It’s been almost two years since I first heard “Alan’s Right”, and was instantly made aware of the tremendous talent this man possesses. Sure, it’s extremely rare to find an artist (especially at his age) who has learned to expertly produce, mix, rap, sing, and write—but more so, it’s the fact that he has also managed to create a completely distinctive and unrepeatable sound. A sound that certainly was influenced by everything from indie singer-songwriters to underground hip-hop, yet it mimics nothing. With every new release I’m able to see the progress in his production, writing, and his ear—with each release more melodic, more honest, and deeper than the last. He’s been extremely hard at work this year creating what will be “The Revival” album, and today we receive the first release. It’s catchy, yet it resonates, and bares an amount of heart and maturity that we rarely see today. To classify him into any genre would be doing him a disservice, so just check out the song, and appreciate it for the engrossing music that it is.

The dance music world is starting to notice Lush & Simon in a big way, especially with “Adrenaline” being the clear favorite of “Talent Revealed Volume 2“, and a mainstay of DJ sets worldwide. We saw this on Tiësto’s club life earlier in the summer and at last Trice Recordings is lucky enough to be releasing this bomb today. Seven Lions’ patented brand of melodic dubstep has quickly become one of the go-to styles for a throng of copycats and established producers alike. After transitioning from metal to electronic music, Jeff Montalvo made his presence felt in a huge way with his Beatport competition winning remix of Above & Beyond’s “You Got To Go”, that would launch his career and open doors that were not even on possible for him to reach before.
We caught up with Seven Lions on his tour bus before he was slated to go on at Pier 94 on Halloween with Krewella, Gareth Emery, Candyland and Cash Cash. We chatted about his upcoming plans, including taking time off from touring next year, touring in general, releases he has coming up, music piracy and much more.

Nearly 2 years ago one of our writers, W8, introduced me to a very dope and underrated artist that is CJ Trillo. Ever since then, I’ve kept CJ projects in heavy rotation due to his pure lyrical originality and smooth productions, which are for the most part created by his right hand man, Jim IE. Today he released his fourth project, Volume 1: Nostalgia. CJ said that this project is everything in him that he’s wanted to release, but was always too self-conscious to in the past. He’s finally reached the point in his artistic career where he’s grown past the concern of how other people view him. With that being said, he has finally allowed himself to vocalize and create all the ideas and vibes he’s wanted to since he first started rapping back in 2009. FTampa is one of those artists I feel has never gotten the amount of love he deserves. He dropped this raver’s fantasy today as a little thank you to the fans he has had and the support they have given over the years. I have had a little trouble listening to House and Electro-House lately due to how the festival scene has forced upon artists repetitiveness in production. Since my first days with FNT up to today, FTampa has never disappointed me with a track. This remix is no exception to that either, enjoy.
