I’m not going to lie, the original by Meghan Trainor freaked me out a little. Nicki Minaj and Adele had a child and she grew up to be Meghan Trainor. Don’t get me wrong, the girl has talent, but all the pink, the children’s doll houses, and the Israel Kamakawiwo?ole look alike doing a split turned me off. With that being said, Cal and Rez have brought this back for me in this weeks installment of TFT. Take away all the things I mentioned, and beef up the production, you’ve got a hit.

When it comes to being American, Cal and Rez are always proudly sporting the red, white, & blue. With their recent album After Hours marinating on the charts, Timeflies haven’t been releasing weekly TFT’s as I’m sure you have hoped. Remixing Miley is more or less a staple of their game at this point, so what would be more American than flipping “Party In The U.S.A.” for their first freestyle in the past few weeks? Well, I can think of a few others, but this one definitely hits the nail on the head as we head into Independence weekend.
