Hip-Hop | Just Juice – It’s Like That
Posted by admin on July 26, 2013
It seems like the new sound is the old sound. People are fiend-ing for that old-school hip-hop, and Juice is the dealer. His newest release “It’s Like That” is fully equip with vinyl scratches, 90’s drum kit, and of course a seamless delivery. Juice has been busy this summer before heading back off to school in the fall, so hopefully we’ll be getting some new music very soon!
Be on the look out for Juice to team back up with his brother and long-time rapping partner, Mojo, in the near future as well. Enjoy, and scoop up the free download. It’s like that y’all.
Electro-House | Daddy’s Groove & Cryogenix – Vertigo
Posted by Middy on March 18, 2013
Coming off of the release of “Stellar“, Italian duo Daddy’s Groove team up with Italian trio Cryogenix to release this high energy track on David Guetta led Jack Back Records. “Vertigo” uses ominous builds that lead into a simple, yet effective drop of thunderous percussion, a pounding bass line and the occasional electro stutter. This festival sized cut is yet another track that is among the many tracks we are seeing now that espouse hard hitting, percussive drops, designed to do the most damage on the biggest of stages.

Progressive House | Two Door Cinema Club – Sleep Alone (The Chainsmokers Remix)
Posted by Mel on February 25, 2013
When they’re not busy making feel good, rub yourself music, the furry browed duo of Drew Taggart and Alex Pall, also known as The Chainsmokers, spend their days walking around NYC boasting a rather impressive 17.34 inches between the two of them (whatever that means). They have somehow managed to stay off of chat roulette and Riley Steele videos (I didn’t know who she was either. I took one for the team and after a quick 20 minute search came to the conclusion that these guys are into ugly chicks) long enough to create another remix. If there’s one thing I like more than when a below average looking girl sits next to me, but less than a lot of other things, it’s their previous remix of “Around Us”. That track was met with much acclaim, earning over 100k plays on Soundcloud. Their latest remix strays from that formula a little bit. Instead of going for an uplifting, euphoric feeling, they took Two Door Cinema Club’s “Sleep Alone” and added progressive elements while keeping the indie feel intact. The result is a high energy, summertime house track. Enjoy.

Electro-House | Sidney Samson & Martin Garrix – Torrent
Posted by Middy on February 19, 2013
I have never been that big a fan of Sidney Samson with his bleepy dutch style being a little too abrasive for the ears and Martin Garrix seems like his a product of being very young and marketable with a good team putting his talent in front of the right people at the right time, however this song by the two of these Dutchmen is quite good. The track leaves behind Sidney Samson’s blistering bleeps and instead moves to more what we have seen with Martin Garrix with pitched saws, a big room interlude and a prominent buzzing low-end. Tiesto’s Musical Freedom rarely misses with its releases and “Torrent” is yet another example of that.

Trance | Ferry Corsten – Kudawudashuda
Posted by Spice on February 11, 2013
Kicking off an absolutely massive week of releases is Ferry Corsten with “Kudawudashuda,” and I couldn’t be more excited. The hook is catchy and dramatic, the vibe is dark and spacey, and the synthwork is top of the line (I’m a huge sucker for those staccato plucks). This is a song to lose your mind to; it’s the song that’s playing at 4 am when you’ve made it to the tail end of a deep set and time has lost all meaning. Ferry will be joining Armin van Buuren and the whole team on several legs of the ASOT 600 world tour (which launches in Madrid this Thursday), so expect to hear much of this track in the coming weeks. It’s out now on Beatport via Ferry’s own Flashover Recordings and is set to drop on iTunes on February 25.

Chill, Dubstep | Tijani – Breathe Out (Prod. Great Skies)

Great Skies is yet another great producer introduced to me by the legend W8. This new track of Great Skies and vocalist Tijani is beauty defined. Once the smooth drop comes in with Tijani’s incredible team of voice and lyric, exhaling becomes a whole new life. This is by far one of the most beautiful and emotional Dubstep tracks of 2012.
