Albums, Exclusive, Featured, Progressive House | FNT Premiere: Sgt Slick – Everyday (Dave Winnel Vicious21 Remix) From Vicious 21
Posted by Middy on March 3, 2014
Vicious Recordings is turning 21 this year and celebrate this momentous occasion, they have compiled 21 classics and 21 new remixes of songs that represent the storied history of the label. In a genre that has only been around for about 35 years, it is all to often we see labels, clubs and other institutions fade into obscurity after a short run on top. To remain one of the great labels, riding the highs and lows of the industry and remaining a consistent force at discovering new talent and promoting great music throughout the years. Based in Australia, just a few of the guys the label has helped break include Avicii, Dirty South, Peking Duk, Angger Dimas and many more.
With the compilation coming out tomorrow on Beatport, we are proud to premiere the Dave Winnel remix of Sgt Slick “Everyday”. Those of you who are fans of Kaskade’s compilation albums (raises hand), will recognize the piano-heavy remix by Digital Lab from Dance.Love, but now hometown kid, Dave Winnel takes over the reigns for a remix fit for 2014. The stunning vocal is left intact as Dave Winnel adds a bouncy bass line underneath a bed of synths that are a mix of a throwback to when this tune was originally released and to the sounds of today. Stream the tune below before it comes out tomorrow. Check out the teaser for the compilation below and see the full tracklist after the jump.

Electro-House, Progressive House | Chris Avantgarde – Colours, Discovery

Chris Avantgarde is a relatively unknown German producer who, aside from the mysterious release on Size that has yet to come to fruition, has largely flown under the radar. Although his releases have been few and far between, he has been busy producing and is now providing us with a constant stream of tracks. “Colours” and “Discovery” are his first two songs he has given away. “Colours” is a typical progressive track lead by a big melody and “Discovery” is his take on electro house and the current festival sound. The drop in “Discovery” is not the most inspired but the breakdown in it is great.

Hip-Hop | Alexander Spit Ft. Jay Ughh- Millions (Video)

H5C got their start making un-sanctioned video’s for big names like Frank Ocean, Odd Future and The Weeknd. Their signature dream-scape visuals used common elements like drugs, sex and violence in a way that made the most vile of acts seem a bit more classy. The directing collective quickly gained notoriety in the L.A. scene and have since moved on to making official videos for some of the most cutting edge artists in the game.
Enter Alexander Spit and Jay Uggh, two very ill So Cal emcees who’s styles seem to draw from similar pools of influence. Each of these emcees bounce between a mid-west, rapid-fire delivery and the southern relaxed drawl that could have only originated from mixing copious amounts of lean, green and shrooms. The outcome is a sonic melting pot of trill vibes that will leave you wanting to hear more. If your feeling this joint be sure to stream or support the Dillinger album.
