Progressive House | Hard Rock Sofa & Skidka – Arms Around Me
Posted by Middy on April 19, 2014
This tune is huge. It is powerful and funky, relying heavily on a sample from KC & The Sunshine Band “Wrap Your Arms Around Me“. The tune was originally rumored to be something from NEW_ID or Prok & Fitch as Axwell & Sebastian Ingrosso have been playing this out intermittently for close to a year, but now we know it is Hard Rock Sofa with their protégé, fellow Russian producer, Skidka. This is about as fresh as it gets, so make sure you cop it now. Next up for Axtone, “Tokyo By Night”. Prepare your bodies.

There is something to be respected about artists that can’t be categorized into a specific genre and Paper Diamond is definitely one of those cats. The genre spanning producer out of Boulder, Colorado is in the midsts of headlining his Cold Crush Tour. If your not able to catch him on the road and you happen to be in Vegas after March 26th you can catch him at club Surrender.
A few days back Hypetrak premiered Paper Diamonds latest offering. “Black Rose” is light, easy-going tune that rides the cusp between a Hip Hop instrumental and a downtempo electronic jawn. After downloading this freebie check out the Diplo & Friends mix that recently dropped for free on Paper Diamond’s Soundcloud. Be sure to check him out on his Cold Crush tour with some very special guests at any one of the dates after the jump.
Electro, Preview | The Rolling Stones – Doom And Gloom (Benny Benassi Remix)
Posted by Mach on December 3, 2012
I love The Rolling Stones, and considering Benny Benassi’s recent track record, I was extremely nervous clicking play. Benny clearly is trying to match his style with the changes that most EDM has made over the past few years. I can happily say that I think he found his sweet spot in his future in Electronic music. This remix is gold. Benny matched the instrumentals flawlessly to Mick Jagger’s voice and even gave the remix a little bit of that Rock and Dance vibe that The Rolling Stones were famous for. The remix releases on December 9th through Universal Music, think of it like an early Christmas gift.
Alternative, Electro, Videos | Muse – The 2nd Law: Unsustainable & Madness
Posted by Mach on September 12, 2012
Woah, I never thought I’d say this, but Muse is back! They seemed to have discovered the most innovative way to blend Electro with Rock, without losing their Rocker inside. Muse is famous for their orchestral intros and outros, this new styling for them has absolutely made Muse one of the most revolutionary bands of our time. Their new album “The 2nd Law” is already available for pre-order, and is releasing on October 2nd. After watching this video, this album may be one of the most anticipated Rock albums in years, history in the making.
Electro-House | Afrojack – Rock The House
Posted by Middy on July 16, 2012
Afrojack did not only drop jaws at UMF when he played “Top Of The World” for the first time, he also put them back down on the floor when he premiered this track with Lil John yelling all over the place, telling you just how special it was to avoid rips of the track. Afrojack has risen to the level of a global superstar, occasionally crossing over into pop and doing songs with pop superstars in the US, while remaining true to his Dutch style and still cranking out those bleeps and bloops that caused people to fall in love with him in the first place. The guitar melody, combined with the massive, big room chord progression provide the perfect build into the hard electro / dutch drop that will Rock Your House and your neighbor’s as well. He also shows off his creativity and production skill with an interesting percussion and piano interlude providing a whole array of styles all within the one song. Another fantastic production from Afrojack and as they say, “If it ain’t Dutch, it ain’t much”.
