Alternative, Pop | Mitch Jones Drops Long-Awaited Debut EP ‘If I Could Go Back’

Posted by on July 23, 2021

Having gained notable traction in the Twitch community over the years, Mitch Jones is transitioning from streams to songwriting with the forthcoming release of his debut EP, If I Could Go Back. Whether it was World of Warcraft, Pokemon Go, or Just Chatting content, Mitch dominated Twitch with natural decorum and has since accumulated over half a million dedicated followers on the platform. Now, the gamer-turned-artist unveils six heartfelt tracks on If I Could Go Back, many of which allude to the passing of his best friend Byron “Reckful” Bernstein.

In April, Mitch took to YouTube to explain why he’s retiring from the streaming empire he’d built over a decade. Titled ‘Treading new waters,’ Mitch speaks on the devastating impact Reckful’s death continues to have on him a year after the fact, and why he feels it is time to explore other avenues. “Truly I had some magical moments as a streamer, and those days are over,” Mitch says. “Every day that I continue just feels like me trying to relive something that I’ve already reached the peak of.”

“I’ve been a full-time streamer for the past 10 years. I became a person that everyone who watched me wanted to see, and it slowly broke down my mental health over time. I lost some of the best people in my life, to death, or just having them leave me for all of my poor choices. In early 2021, Kala and I connected and we started making music together and it has helped me more than any therapy could. I want to write songs to save people who are struggling, just like I’ve been. Thank you to all of the real ones from Twitch who have supported me in this journey into music. I hope the music can help at least one other person.” – Mitch Jones

Alternative | LA Parties Unveils Impressive Debut Single “LA Parties”

Posted by on March 19, 2021

LA Parties” is a song about looking at the ‘Instagram life’ – what we see on TV and social media – and discerning it as fake. It was written amidst chaos as LA Parties (real name Andy Gorel) was enduring during a very difficult and depressed period of his life. The breakout artist had just turned 20 years old, and had mangled his hand in an accident – leaving him to believe he’d never play music again. “I struggled greatly with how this visual world we live in would see me, and the prospect of not being able to pursue my greatest passion, music,” says Gorel.

That was in September 2017. Gorel spent every moment he could, re-learning how to play the guitar. By March 2018, he had miraculously recovered enough to write “LA Parties” alone in his West Philadelphia apartment. It began with the simple guitar part heard in the intro. Coming off of a booze-packed, party weekend full of new friends and new crush, “LA Parties” came to fruition.

Hitting the ground running, “LA Parties” is the wondrous debut single from LA Parties. A hard-hitting alternative rock single tailor-made for the 2020s, LA Parties is an artist you’re going to want to keep an eye on.

Kap Slap is back with one of the biggest party tracks we’ve heard in a while. We’ve seen some artists take classic tracks like “We Will Rock You” and try to reinvent them with the electronic sounds of today, but we’ve never quite seen one as crazy as this edit. All hail Kap Slap.

Hip-Hop | Mayo – Rock With You (Prod. By Milo Mills)

Mayo’s back with a Summer banger “Rock With You” and it’s silky smooth. Produced by Milo Mills, “Rock With You” has a bounce to it that you just can’t not feel, and I know this one is going to connect with the ladies, and the fellas for that matter, especially all of your Drake lovers. I have to admit this is my first time listening to Mayo, and lately I’ve been skeptical when it comes to hip hop, as jazz productions and monotonous weird flows are just becoming redundant, and boring, so it’s always refreshing to hear a rap song that I can cruise to with my girl by my side. This is def a must listen!

Exclusive, Featured, Interviews | Hard Rock Sofa On Album “Most Important Thing For Us At Moment”

Hard Rock Sofa need little introduction. Though their rise to prominence has only been in the past 3-4 years, coinciding with the dance music boom Stateside, they have been making music since 2005. Approaching a decade of making music and it appears that they are hitting their stride (take notes kids, this does not happen overnight, unless you buy it), making tunes in a wide variety of sounds and styles.

We were supposed to sit down and chat with them the third day of E Zoo, but well I think we all know what happened. But we got the chance after “Arms Around Me” released to chat with them, so of course we did. We got to chat about their latest single “Arms Around Me” that was just released on Axtone, the impact of Sergey (the former third member of the group) leaving, their upcoming artist album and much more.
