Albums, Trance | Trance Tuesdays Cosmic Gate – Wake Your Mind Album Review

Posted by on October 25, 2011

Yesterday was a huge day for EDM with Kaskade releasing his 7th artist album “Fire and Ice” (review to come soon) and Cosmic Gate the German trance duo releasing their album “Wake Your Mind”. The album is a masterful display of production from start to finish. They are masters of vocal trance with the long vocal builds into a euphoric hands in the air drop that makes you feel like you are at their show. With a good balance of instrumental and stirring vocal tracks with collaborations with other trance heavyweights such as Andrew Bayer and Myron & Shane 54, Cosmic Gate leaves us with a 14 track treat that will leave you hitting repeat. I picked out four of my favorite songs from the album for a full preview and if you like them get this album on Beatport HERE or wait until October 31st for iTunes and other sellers. They are in the middle of a North America tour right now, so if they are in your area do not hesitate to go out to see them.

Drum & Bass, Dubstep, House | Delphic – This Momentary (SKREAMIX)

Posted by on October 23, 2011

Since Skream first posted a preview of this track on his soundcloud, I knew I wasn’t going to be able to wait for its release. Well it is 3 months later and he finally has dropped it due to how much he is enjoying his tour right now. This track is all any electronic music lover could ask for. It has vibes of all different types, house, dubstep, and drum & bass. Glad the track is so long, means I don’t have to set it on repeat as often.

Dubstep, Trance | BT & Adam K – Tomahawk (Original Mix Edit)

Posted by on October 13, 2011

Tomahawk by BT & Adam K was just featured on Armin van Buuren’s Universal Religion: Chapter 5. This track is just a medley of epicness, so much so that I don’t even know what to call it. This beast starts off as an unsuspecting trance track (in classic BT style) and then builds in some electro, until finally climaxing as an all out dubstep smash. I don’t know what to do with myself right now…

With Skrillex’s mysterious new album being held over our heads currently, I felt it was only right to post up his newest tour video. He can do what ever he wants, and his fans love him even more for it. No word yet on the drop date for his new album, but no doubt until it drops I will check everyday.

Pretty sick remix from the man himself. He’s on top of the world right now with his “We Found Love” Rihanna collab…definitely worth a download.

Hip-Hop | Mac Miller Cosmic Kev Freestyle

Posted by on October 2, 2011

Mac drops by Cosmic Kev’s show to spit a 9 minute freestyle. You can’t deny that Mac arguably has the biggest buzz in hip-hop right now, and all at the age of 19. Blue Slide Park drops November 8th, given that he doesn’t get 100,000 pre-orders on Itunes before than… Whats your bet? Will he? Sound off in the comments.

Hip-Hop | Moufy ft. David Ortiz – Boston (Music Video)

Posted by on September 23, 2011

Yes, you read that correctly, David Ortiz, as in the Boston Red Sox slugger.  Moufy has been buzzing like crazy around Boston lately, getting love everywhere around the city including a display of “Boston Lights” on the jumbo-tron at the Patriots game this past weekend.  Somewhere in the past few weeks, Moufy linked up with Big Papi & Popchips for a new Beantown promotional anthem.  Trust me, I’m just as baffled as you are right now.  Find @DavidOrtiz and @Moufy on Twitter!
