Trap | Harrison Blakoldman – Nocturn
Posted by BP on December 5, 2013
Wow, isn’t this album art awesome? Anyway, “Nocturn” by Harrison Blakoldman out on Cosmonostro is a trapped out beauty. “Nocturn” stands out from a lot of the trap coming out right now. The sounds of a xylophone ring over low bassy beats. Its a lullaby with a modern twist. My favorite part is after a minute in when the sound is fuller, but it’s all really unique and interesting to listen to. Grab it for free!
Bass, Hip-Hop, Techno | Brodinski & Beat King – 5 Years
Posted by Spice on November 25, 2013
This patently absurd and not totally surprising lyric is what happens when you, ahem, mix a Parisian tech house don (and noted leather shorts enthusiast) with a looming presence on the Texas club scene. Brodinski’s borderline anthropologic fascination with Southern rap culture is no secret, and in “5 Years” we see it out in full force. The formula here is simple: Beat King lays the perversely catchy verse, Brodinski delivers a menacing wallop of sub bass, and the rest, as they say, is dance floor history. Free download so scoop it up.

Bass, Chill | Hippie Sabotage – Stay High (Tove Lo Flip)
Posted by Nick on November 23, 2013
If there’s anything I can tell you about this track, it’s that this song is a must listen. I know I might be a little bit late on this one, but if you haven’t heard it, you need to right now. “Stay High” is an original mix by California-based Hippie Sabotage that samples vocals from Tove Lo’s pop record “Habits,” intended for the Aris Jerome directed video “Stay High.” Winter’s just about to start, but if you’re looking to recapture that summer vibe one last time, make sure to hit the play button ASAP; and if you really like it (which we both know you will), definitely worth checking out their other stuff too: straight quality.

House, Trap | Calvin Harris Ft. Ayah Marar – Thinking About You (EZRA Remix)
Posted by Mach on November 14, 2013
Taking the popular Calvin Harris and one of dance music’s hottest vocalist Ayah Marar, up and coming producer EZRA evolves this gem into a truly vibing Trap remix. One can’t ignore the use of House on this track and how flawlessly it blends with EZRA’s Trap work. Not the typical Trap blending you see right now, I hope EZRA has more great work like this up his sleeve right now.

Progressive House | Mikky Ekko – Kids (The Chainsmokers Remix)
Posted by Middy on November 13, 2013
I met one of the members of The Chainsmokers for the first time the other day and was shocked to learn they weren’t moonlighting as professional oil wrestlers in their spare time. They do breed Golden Retrievers and Alex is single ladies, so wink wink, golden retrievers and a very eligible touring bachelor DJ? Hop on that right now (full disclosure I do not know if they breed golden retrievers). One thing I do know for certain because it is right in front of me is that they recently did a remix for Mikky Ekko’s “Kids” and it is the moving progressive house we have come to expect from them. Grab is for free from the giving producers, and maybe they will give you a puppy (probably not).
Electro | Sampology & DJ Butcher feat. Beenie Man – Dancehall Queen (Akouo Remix)
Posted by mimada on November 11, 2013
Following the success of his previous FNT appearance, Tasmanian producer Akouo is back with another genre-defying remix. For those who haven’t heard, “Dancehall Queen” is this ridiculously turnt, Major Lazer-esque club reggae banger from Brisbane-based producers Sampology and DJ Butcher. There must be something in the water down under because I cannot keep up with all the talent Australia is turning out right now… Anyways, Akouo puts a darker, steadier, and more electro sounding spin on the original track, creating a more contrasting yet equally addicting remix. Check out the full remix EP on iTunes, featuring notable contributions from Artis and Tyler Touche, as well.
