FNT’s favorite visual artist, Rey Marrasquin, continues to impress us with his incredible abilities. As always, Rey derives his inspiration from music. More specifically, EDM. This time he populates his creative glands by listening to Candyland’s remix of Krewella’s “Can’t Control Myself”. Capturing his process from start to finish using a time lapse video, we can see just how Rey works his magic. As always, hit him up on Twitter with special requests and new music, he’s always looking for a challenge.
House | Rey Marrasquin: They Inspire

After discovering Rey Marrasquin almost a year ago, I was instantly captivated by his unique style of visual art. Rey’s creative process goes a little something like this: he hops on the his favorite music website (FNT of course!) and finds an inspirational track. With his creative juices now steadily overflowing, Rey creates a masterpiece, and best of all… he films the entire process.
Watching his growth over the past year and thoroughly enjoying each of his new videos made me realized that FNT needed to get a piece of the action, before it was too late. The video above features the mural that we commissioned to hang in the FNT headquarters. Something tells me that you might recognize a few of these bright stars of the EDM galaxy…

For his latest masterpiece, Rey Marrasquin takes on Krewella’s latest smash hit One Minute. Not only am I obsessed with Rey, but I am equally as enamored by Krewella, so I can hardly keep my pants on for this combo. Haven’t heard of krewella yet? I’ll forgive you if you check out their previous posts….

After my initial post about Rey Marrasquin’s art which is inspired by the music he finds right here, I was hooked to his story. For each of his video’s Rey, picks a song and uses it to inspire a piece of artwork…the best part is that he films the whole creation process and constructs a time-lapse video of the whole thing. Call me biased, but his latest masterpiece, a dedication to your truly, is my personal favorite haha.

Being a blogger is often a thankless pursuit…I spend hours a day hunting around for the newest tracks to fuel your fire and often times the only feedback I get are comments from haters who are ohhh so quick to point out my few mistakes. Even so, every once in a while something pops up that really ignites my blogger fire. This week that something happened to be a someone, Rey Marrasquin. Rey has been taking tracks that he has found on FNT and using them to inspire his artwork, and not only that, Rey has put together timelapse videos of himself painting thee pieces. I am no art critic but I do think I have an eye (and an ear) for creativity, so I can confidently say these videos are definitely worth a look.
