Videos | Mike Posner ft. Blackbear – Stay Schemin’ (Cover)
Posted by GMONEY on January 15, 2012
This is what I’m talking about. I’m not even a Mike Posner fan. This is pure genius. Even though we love to pick on various artists in the industry, there’s a reason why they’re signed and others are not. This is why Mike Posner is signed to a major label. He’s pure talent, he’s got a great beard, and he’s got the vocal range of a high school girl who uploads her covers to Youtube. He’s really the triple threat-and shows it by covering Rick Ross’s “Stay Schemin” off his recent “Rich Forever” mixtape featuring Drake and French Montana. As a bonus, I’ve included the original track as well as the cover mp3.

Hi-Rez dropped a new video for his track, ‘Smiling” off his recent mixtape, A Walk To Remember, maintaining his easy going attitude he seems to hold very highly. When you’re 18 years old and having the success Rez is having, you have no reason not to be smiling. You can cop the full mixtape below and jump over to his Facebook or Twitter to wish the kid a belated happy birthday.

I’ve got only one principle when it comes to music, anything unique goes right to the front of the line, which is very few considering the many. It’s clear to me, electro music needs a transformation from the generic state it’s heading in. Lately, I’m hearing one continuous track with new bells and whistles, on rare occasions I notice the track has changed. Likely the reason for this, creation has no motivation. You can’t put energy into being unique, if you could its been done already. There is no formula to being the first at originating something new. Tesla, the man who created the modern world said ”I did not invent, I discovered what was there to find.”.
A young man began a correspondence with Mozart, and the following was said:
Q: “Herr Mozart, I am thinking of writing symphonies. Can you give me any suggestions as to how to get started.”
A: “A symphony is a very complex musical form, perhaps you should begin with some simple lieder and work your way up to a symphony.”
Q: “But Herr Mozart, you were writing symphonies when you were 8 years old.”
A: “But I never asked anybody how.”
I’d say, artists that rarely get inspired are the ones most adored. I’ve personally grown so dependant on artists to produce for me, so purely a consumer of music, expecting my fix, judging them because I’ve lost all my own creative abilities to make a difference.

Hip-Hop | LaVish- It’s All Good
Posted by ATexas on October 24, 2011
LaVish is a cali up and comer who is about to release his EP Polaroid, obviously. I could describe the song as a bunch of synth chords, with percussion and a rhythm that makes you think “It’s all good,” but it’s all about remembering that things are always going to work out. Let the drum and bells let you sync into relax mode.
PS: Go Texas Rangers! Dude, have the name for a reason.

Progressive House | Coldplay – Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall (Avicii’s ‘Tour’ Mix)
Posted by Middy on October 19, 2011
UPDATE: Avicii just tweeted this video of a group of guys singing one of his songs to stop a fight from breaking out. Awesome.
Avicii is back with this sublime remix of Coldplay’s “Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall” that he has been playing as his opening song in all of his sets this summer and is possibly better than the remix from Swedish House Mafia. He played Studio 54 last night and was labeled “The future of dance music” so maybe he decided to leak this song to public because of that gig as well as a Halloween treat and he because he is close to 500,000 fans on Faceook. Whatever the reason, it does not change the fact that this song is absolutely enormous and something you must have.

Dubstep | Excision

Yea, I know, I just s**t my pants too. This video is crazy, not including the fact that “X Rated” is the reason why most of America’s youth will go deaf by age 26. I’m curious why Messinian’s voice sounds just like Xibit on this. Doesn’t matter, track is heavier than the stuff you tell your therapist on tampon tuesdays.
The track below is another new one from Excision. This track is a little more on the chill side, but damn is it sexy. Excision’s new album, “X-Rated” drops Sept. 12th.
