Preview, RnB | Skit & Tijani – Sweat

Posted by on July 1, 2013

Skit & Tijani - SweatEven with the radio host talking over some of this preview, it is still sex. Tijani and Skit were meant to collaborate, this song just drives deep into you soul. A release is in the works, crossing my fingers for it to be soon. This is going to be a must have.

Pop, Videos | Miley Cyrus – We Can’t Stop

Posted by on June 19, 2013

What ever happened to Hannah Montana? Miley Cyrus has seemed to take her own Lindsay Lohan-esque nose dive for the worse, except more in control (how crazy does that sound?). Her newest release is produced by none other than Mike Will Made it. Without a doubt, this song is going to be a radio hit, however I really question what’s going on in Miley’s head. Anyways all moral standards aside, peep the video above and if you happen to be a big Miley Cyrus fan then look for her upcoming album.

Hip-Hop, Rap, Videos | Marc Goone – THIS IS MY $ONG 4 RADIO

Posted by on June 16, 2013

I’m not sure what’s more comical, Marc Goone satirizing the entire music industry in a song or the listeners who actually believe that he is attempting to get this song heard on the radio. The sad truth of hip-hop music is that it can be virtually (w)rapped up inside this four minute song, minus of course the few outliers.

One of those outliers being none other than Marc Goone himself. Goone defies virtually every stereotype there is about rap music all while managing to make his music intriguing and enjoyable. Marc recently released his free album I Am Not A Lobster, OK which can be downloaded here.

Now, I advise you all to take a moment to listen to Yung Marc Goone’s “$ONG 4 RADIO” before you go out to ride around and ‘get it’.

DO SOMETHING

Progressive House | Axwell – Center Of The Universe

Posted by on June 10, 2013

Axwell - Center Of The UniverseLord oh Lord, finally Axwell. First revealed to the public in 2009, we at last have the original mix of Axwell’s monster track “Center Of The Universe”. He has been a busy man post, SHM, releasing a downtempo remix for Discopolis’ “Falling (Committed To Sparkle Motion)”, the Beatport number one remode of “Center Of The Universe”, his collaboration with Sebastian Ingrosso for Monsters University “Roar” and now this. It is showing that the breakup of SHM might have been a good thing after all.

You probably know the song by now, so there is no need to give you a detailed description, however it is pure blissful Axwell music that is becoming rarer and rarer in house music today, which is why we should cherish producers like Axwell who can remain to successful and consistent over a long period of time. The full extended version is not out yet, but you can grab the radio edit on iTunes below.

Electro, House, Pop | Timeflies – I Choose U (Fedde Le Grand Remix)

Add another one to the books.  Timeflies newest radio ready hit single, “I Choose U” evidently trickled into the lab of Fedde le Grand, who remixed the electro-pop track into a heavier house hit.  Adding powerful drum work and swooning synths behind Cal’s vocals and extending the already addictive drop just brought this track from six to midnight.    The purity of Cal’s vocals really hold up nicely as the Dutch Commander maintains a uniform balance of added production and authenticity of the original record.  Enjoy this preview for now until the official remix his Beatport in the near future.  Also, be sure to cop the original single (visuals below) by Timeflies on iTunes.

Cover, RnB | Spenz — Do Me Now (Cover)

Posted by on May 30, 2013

Spenz
We hardly ever post covers—so I guarantee this one is something special. My aversion partly has to do with the fact that I place so much value in songwriting, but also because it’s extremely rare to find one in which an artist actually adds something to the original. For most upstarts, covers essentially become replications—just a means of highlighting that they can also fill the space of an overproduced pop instrumental. But, on that rare occasion, I hear one that improves something that was missing on the original, or gives life to it in a unique way. Such is the case here, as Jamaican R&B artist Spenz reinterprets K. Roosevelt’s “Do Me Now”, which—even though it’s taking over radio right now—is underwhelming, given the quality of the Hit-Boy beat he received. Spenz provides that missing energy, smoothes out K. Roosevelt’s more staccato delivery, and adds some soul. You can expect to hear a lot more from this talented new artist in the coming months. In the meantime, keep up with him here.
