Hip-Hop, Videos | Radical Something – California (Official Video)
Posted by GMONEY on October 17, 2011
After getting back from their mini-European tour, Radical Something is ready to hit the ground running. Their latest release is these stunning visuals for the single California off their debut album We Are Nothing (which you can grab on iTunes here). Here is what they had to say about the video:
The video was shot in 2 days against the backdrop of sunny Venice Beach, CA. The song was written and recorded during the final hours of our studio lockdown this past May in Florida. We were inspired by our home state, and wanted to put together a visually stimulating, fun, colorful, and honest depiction of our lives in California.
If that wasn’t enough excitement for ya, well when this video hits 100,000 views, Radical Something will be releasing their next music video, Freedom, which is currently in post production

The highly anticipated release from the newly formed trio consisting of Loggy (Rapper/Singer/Songwriter/Guitarist), Josh Cocktail (Singer/Songwriter/Guitarist), & DJ Big Red (DJ/Producer/Do-It-All Musician) is finally at our fingertips. We have received countless videos, singles, promos, & acoustic jam sessions since the group formed back in the spring and with the warm weather unfortunately coming to a close (for some of us), we have a dosage of Indian Summer than will supplement that brisk fall weather.
Anyone familiar with Radical Something knows they bring a unique, laid back sound to the table. This entire project was done in house among the 3, apart from the one feature from Kinetics (“Be Easy”). Do your part to support the movement as the Radical’s make a push to bring positive change to the world of music. Also, be on the lookout for them coming to a beach, frat, bar, or other venue near you as they set off on the “Are You Radical?” tour.

Albums, Hip-Hop, Pop | Shwayze & Cisco – Over & Over ft. Kendrick Lamar & Sophie Stern
Posted by Grubeats on September 14, 2011
Shwayze & Cisco have had one scorching summer. From Shwayze’s first major hit, “Love Letter”, which featured The Cataracs, to some of their smaller scale beachy beats such as “Summertime Music” and “You Could Be My Girl”, Shwayze & Cisco have innovated nothing short of the best ‘summertime music’. With their very chilling album, “Island In The Sun” which hit shelves Tuesday, I realized there are not many duos who are capable of creating a similar sound. The only real exception being Radical Something, who also had a very successful summer, breaking out of the gates with some very zesty tunes. But really, when the suns out, Shwayze & Cisco belong in the speakers.
I haven’t had a chance to listen to the album through fully yet, but from the half I’ve heard, this track could very well be my favorite. I can’t say I expected to see Kendrick Lamar as one of the few features on this project, but after hearing it, I couldn’t be happier with the decision. The first time I’ve heard K. Dot over this time of beat and the first time I realized how versatile he really is.

Hip-Hop, Indie | Radical Something – Long Hair Don’t Care
Posted by BIGLIFE on July 14, 2011
Here’s yet another summer jam for everyone to throw on deck during those sunny days. The inspiration behind the lyrics came from a series of strange events that I’ll let Loggy (a member of the group) describe:
“Long Hair Don’t Care” was created mid way through Radical Something’s studio lockdown in Florida. The jam’s instrumental was laid down during the day but came full circle that night when we grabbed some beer and an old stereo out of the studio, hopped a fence at a nearby apartment complex, and sat by a moonlit pool, listening to the track and looking for some lyrical inspiration. We found it easily–a few minutes later, 2 cop cars came screeching around the corner with their sirens blaring and searchlights pointed right at us. Within seconds we were face down on the pavement getting detained for open containers and tresspassing. We were let off with some petty infractions. Pissed off and oddly inspired, we bounced right back to the studio where we immediately wrote and cut the entire track. “
