Albums, Alternative | Radical Something – No Sweat EP [Review]
Posted by LoffyG on February 26, 2012
While the crisp winter breeze may still be in the air for some of us unfortunate northerners, California’s warm weather is back in our speakers. Radical Something just released their second project, a six track EP entitled No Sweat. We’ve shown tons of love for these guys since the start and are proud to be involved in this project.
As you probably know by now, their music and sound is much different than anything that’s out right now and that’s what makes them unique. Big Red smashes the MPC and production (and even throws down a mystery verse on “Say Yes” at about the 1:30 mark), Loggy dishes out the hip-hop side of things while Josh Cocktails boasts his powerful voice, adding flavor to every track. What is most impressive to me about this group is their ability to work cohesively and offer versatility while maintaining their sound. Hearing their music always brightens the mood. This has a much different vibe than We Are Nothing their debut album which dropped towards the end of last summer and shows the progression from the trio. The No Sweat EP is out now on iTunes for only $2.99 get it here!
Radical Something let us release “Say Yes” as an exclusive for the fans. You can also listen to a preview of each track on the album below. Let the beat breathe and be easy, RS has done it again.

Posted by LoffyG on February 15, 2012
Radical Something releases the mp3 from their first single “Valentine”, off their upcoming No Sweat EP. They let this one go since they’ve had such a great response to their video which released yesterday. If you missed that video you can catch that here. Also they will be live on Ustream tonight to debut another new song off the EP. They will be performing the song on Ustream tonight sort of like a live music video. So be sure to check back here for that around 10pm EST!
Hip-Hop, Videos | Radical Something – Valentine (Cut Me Loose) [Music Video + Acoustic Video]
Posted by LoffyG on February 13, 2012
Radical Something has just released the first video off their upcoming No Sweat EP, which drops February 26th! They’ve released this just in time for Valentines day, but to Radical Something this is actually an anti-valentines day song. The meaning of this song relates to each member of the group and how they’ve had to leave their girlfriends behind to pursue a music career full-time. You can also catch the acoustic video of this song below. Catch up with Radical Something on Facebook and Twitter!
Shout out to Sam, Kyla, & Gabby for being such stars in this music video…

In lieu of the holiday season starting, Radical Something drops a unifying jam that is really driven by a strong hook by Josh Cocktail. Loggy doesn’t disappoint with his vibrant vocals as usual along with great production by Big Red. This track is not connected to any project in particular, just something to hold you over until your thanksgiving feast.

Hip-Hop | Kinetics & One Love ft. Krystyle – 845 (Prod. by Kid Vision)

Kinetics teams up with fellow Hudson Valley native to put on for their hometown, the 845. Although you probably expected production from One Love on this track, Kid Vision did the work behind the words as One Love polished it off. You probably recognize Kid Vision from his work with Tayyib Ali or Kam Royal. Here’s what Kinetics & One Love had to say about the upcoming months,
“Also…Kinetics & One Love are proud to announce the upcoming release of a new album, slated to drop on iTunes in early 2012. To hold you over until then, we will be releasing a song a week, every Wednesday, until the album drops – all new material in addition to the all-new material on the album. Next week, expect a dope collaboration with fellow NYC native Accent & DJ Big Red of Radical Something.”
