Alternative, Chill | Radical Something Brings Us “Down South”

Posted by on June 30, 2015

The Radical Something guys have been quiet for a little while now, but just last week we heard it was for good reason. The three-piece California band was busy writing, recording, and strategizing for their Summer of Rad campaign!

The first song to reach our ears this summer is “Down South” and embodies the laid back summer tunes we have come to expect from the duo. There is plenty more in store, so be sure to tune in again and enjoy these lazy summer months.

Chill, Hip-Hop | Radical Something – Cali Get Down

Posted by on July 28, 2014

It seems as if the Cali-bred band, Radical Something hits their stride every summer with the release of new music. In the peak of these hot, beautiful days, Rad So decided to drop off “Cali Get Down”. The song is a funky, pop record that they’ve been performing at shows for some time now. After the wild response it received from fans, it was only right to unleash the full mp3 to put in to rotation on your summer playlist.

2014 has already been great for the band, having toured across the country with Logic and Krewella partying it up on over twenty-five college campuses. Now, with Fall on the horizon, Loggy, Josh, and Red have just announced they’ll be back on the road with Matisyahu for over 50 more dates!

Enjoy the song, and be sure to catch Radical Something on the road.

Hip-Hop | Logic – Now (Prod. By 6ix, Arthur McArthur & Swiff D)

Logic - Now (Prod. By 6ix, Arthur McArthur & Swiff D) freshnewtracks

Those who have been following Logic from the start know him, his outlook on music, and his demeanor.  Confidence > Cockiness.  A few noteworthy lines from previous songs…

“Never cocky I’m just confident the flow is prominent” – via “Ask ‘Em”

“You gotta realize, a lot of the time when I talk
And I’m talking extremely cocky, I’m not talking
About myself, I’m talking about the work.” – via “Numbers”

Since his last mixtape, Welcome to Forever, Young Sinatra has further developed his voice into a powerful, charismatic sound.  With this, some fans may argue his music has changed.  Changed?  No.  Developed?  Yes.  His versatility continues to improve and his fan base continues to grow.  With that comes clingers (#RAPGAMEBARNACLES).  Everyone and their mother wants a piece of the pie.  Once-haters are suddenly starving for a taste.  Logic’s newest release, “Now” addresses those naysayers and urchins with heavy production and a balance of swift and machine gun raps.  This marks the first single off his newly announced Free EP, While You Wait, which will serve as an appetizer to his full length Def Jam debut.

Gotta give it to 6ix, Arthur McArthur, & Swiff D on this one.  This production KICKS.

One more thing – Logic will be touring with Krewella & Radical Something in part of the Verge Campus tour starting this week AND he will also be crossing the country with labelmate QuESt and ©. Castro this summer.

Chill, Electronic, Hip-Hop | Radical Something – Long Way Home (DJ BIG RED & Icebird Remix)

Posted by on March 10, 2014

In Radical Something’s newest song and video, we see a whole new side of the California-based band. Their in-house producer/drummer/DJ, Big Red, cooked up an EDM remix to the band’s song “Long Way Home”. The song certainly makes their upcoming tour with Krewella seem a little bit more fitting. It is clear they are trying to merge fan-bases and expand the musical tastes of Rad-So listeners.

Enjoy the song and video and be sure to get Radical Something back in your playlists as the Spring begins to heat up!

Chill, Hip-Hop | Radical Something – Pure

Posted by on January 30, 2014

It’s been a hot second since we have heard anything from the Cali-based group, Radical Something, but thankfully they are back with a brand new song and video, “Pure”. The song is a refreshing switch up from the usual upbeat, poppy-sounds of summer that we usually get from the band. “Pure” is just that, a simple, melodic and slow ballad to the beauty of life and music. As we are stuck in the barren winter months it is important to take a step back and enjoy.

Rad-So, although not having to bear the sub-zero temperatures that us over on the east-coast do, are still making these cold months a tad more enjoyable. So, sit-back and take in “Pure”.
