Hip-Hop, Rap | Eddie B – SPLASH (Prod. By Harry Fraud)
Posted by VMan on October 9, 2013
Fresh off his showcase at the A3C Hip Hop festival, repping for the SRFSCHL movement, Eddie B drops “Splash” off his upcoming project The Johnny Utah Story , with a release planned on Monday 10/14, and yo if this project sounds anything like “Splash,” I’m mad looking forward to hearing it. From the bars, to the production, both Eddie and Harry Fraud deliver. Check that M83 sample and hear what Eddie speaks. My favorite line off the track is: “I just want to make more bread than Panera, I’m here to save the game like Mariano Rivera…” Must listen and get that free download!

Electronic, Hip-Hop | Mike Philson Ft. Dre Martie, Ernie Gaines, Marcus Miller, & Pa_triot – To The Moon
Posted by VMan on October 4, 2013
The Major Motion Picture Group lead by Mike Philson sent over this house infused hip-hop tune, “To The Moon,” they recorded at Stadium Red Studios in NYC. As you can tell by the long list of collaborators, this project was passed around to different producers whom added their touch, ending with a saxophone line to smooth up the landing. I’ve had this track on repeat all morning, it’s catchy as hell; Mike Philson delivers with the flow. Good work, look forward to hearing more from these guys. Must listen and support by copping this tune on iTunes!

Skiff takes a stab at a Nas sample on his newest visual release, “Hard to Tell”. The AllHandzOnDeck indie signee keeps his punchlines tender with a distinguished voice and impressive production by Brownz Boogie. Stay tuned as Skiff preps for his debut project due out later this year.

Pop, Videos | Jon Bellion – One More Time [Video]

“One More Time” marks the second visual release from Jon off his sophomore project due out later this fall. With electronic elements built into the production, Bellion tells his lustful story of coitus with this beautiful young lady. The scandalous tale might bring life to Bloodhoung Gang’s most notable line, “Do it like they do on the discovery channel”, but don’t overlook the artistic elements stitched into this song — incredible. From the production to the visual work to the clever lines such as “screw your pops let’s get some iHop”, Jon really brought this scandalous story to life.
Stay tuned for another behind the scenes look into the creation of this track, as Jon plans to share another video similar to the one he just release for “Ungrateful Eyes”.

Electronic | FLXXDS- Two Coins (City & Colour Cover)

FLXXDS is a three part project made up of Gazzo, Crywolf, and half of PRFFTT & Svyable. Their cover of “Two Coins” gives the beautiful original track by City and Colour a new electronic twist. It’s fresh and clean while the melancholy vibe of the original track is still kept in tact. I’m excited to hear more from this new group! This one’s free so check it out!

Bootleg | Kap Slap – 100K Bootleg Pack

8 new mashups from Kap Slap, yes please? As a thank you / celebration for hitting 100K fans on Facebook, Kap Slap has released his latest project, for free. Kap Slap has already established himself as one of the best when it comes to mashups; his creativity and ability to seamlessly blend tracks of opposite genres is unparalleled. Below is one of my favorites – Kap Slap takes a tech house banger, throws some T-Swift & a Stacy’s Mom sample over it to create an 80’s banger that deserves this decades attention.
