Mashups | 3LAU – Dubsex (Skrillex & Nero ft Britney, Daft Punk, Posner, & Amanda)

Posted by on August 16, 2011

3LAU is the Avicii of college artists right now…the kid’s gone from 5 Facebook likes to almost 5k in just a few months, went from taking his sister to prom to dating BIGLIFE’s ex gf, and he’s mastered the production game so we’ll even Afrojack would be impressed. Because everyone and their sister these days seems to be producing mashups, the notable few at the top hold their dominant position due to one thing…creativity. Never in my right mind would I have imagined being able to mash anything over the heavy drops/whomps Skrillex & Nero created with “Promises”…I guess that’s why I’m the one sitting in my grandmother’s basement and 3LAU’s out touring.

And for good “Mashup Monday” measure, here are a few bonus tracks from DJ LockDown. I dare you to listen to “Viva La Bassline” three times in a row, that sample will be stuck in your head for the rest of the night.

Electro, Mashups | DJ Trademark – Summer Weekend

Posted by on August 7, 2011

If you want to know why you should jump into our TurnTable.Fm room, talk to DJ Trademark. He hopped on deck the other night and just blew us away with some of his tracks. The ones posted below are a few of our favorite cuts which we though the FNT nation would really enjoy. My personal favorite? I’d have to go with “Summer Weekend” (visuals above) – what a great blend. We will be dropping his newest track as soon as its done so stay tuned!

Dubstep | InnerPartySystem – Not Getting Any Better (Shirobon Remix)

Posted by on July 24, 2011

Ahh just what you needed to nurse that hangover from last night, a soft-core BIGLIFE Dubstep post. Per my usual taste, these two tracks sport some filthy vocals and the perfect amount of whomps. Ps. send in your fan pics to we can feature you on the site.

Electro | Porter Robinson vs. SHM – Leave The Wildcat Behind (DallasK Bootleg)

Posted by on July 21, 2011

Here’s the latest from DallasK. This awesome electro-dubstep hybrid track holds true to his original “sound” but ventures off into mashing territory, drawing from two hits by SHM and Porter Robinson. Did I just say Porter Robinson? I think I did so I’m going to go ahead and plug our almost sold out Tiesto shows on Sep 19th and 20th. Porter Robinson will be opening up so you know this won’t just be a one man gig. This shit is going to bump all night long. Get your tickets here: Sep 19 UMASS and Sep 20 URI.

Dubstep, Events, Videos | Camp Bisco Recap and Dubstep

I went to Camp Bisco this past weekend, it was awesome to say the least. 15,000 people went last year, 30,000 this year. Video above was Nero’s epic opening. Excuse my amature camera skills, I was having fun.

Before I give my run down on some of the shows, here are a few tracks for your enjoyment. Let’s face it, you didn’t come here to read haha.

For most of the shows I tried to get as close as possible. Skrillex on the first night was insane, the tent was packed in minutes. He ended up starting his set with 2 new tracks and later on played another new track. Cstan saw him the next night and had the same thing happen. Bassnectar was over the top, banger after banger. You knew he was going to kill it once his set hit its first drop. Out of the less famous artists, Savoy did great. Especially when they played “I’m In Need,” it even turned out to be a different sounding version. I am hoping that means it’s finalized now so we can have it.

Out of all the shows I went to, Udachi really stood out with his Electro/Dubstep style. I was at the front rail with maybe 40 people behind me, he walked on stage looking like thats what he expected for a turnout. After his third track the tent was packed with a few thousand people going nuts. He even took a minute to tell the crowd that it was the most amazing thing to see that many people loving his music. Overall Camp Bisco was rediculous, if you weren’t there this year you have to go next year.
