Electro | Kyau & Albert – A Night Like This (Radio Version)

Posted by on September 17, 2011

Keep your eye on this German duo – their top notch production matched by in house vocals by Steven Albert put them a step ahead of most. I’m particularly drawn to the unique and memorable sounds they employ to make their club thumping tracks, which you may actually recall even after the end of a drunken night.

Be sure to follow them on Facebook – HERE

Events | Avicii – Live in Albany, NY

Posted by on September 14, 2011

After Cazzette’s closing track at about 11 p.m. at the Albany Armory on September 12th, all that could be heard was the loud and constant chanting of the nights main attraction, progressive house artist/producer, Avicii. Opening with “Fade into Darkness,” a pulsing crowd sang along and all were already assured it was going to be a good night.

Hip-Hop | Bei Maejor ft. Mike Posner – They Call Me

Posted by on September 11, 2011

Want piano, drums, gospel singing, a little Mike Posner and slamming rap verses. Yes, one please. Bei Maejor’s newest drop “They Call Me” lays down verses with a melange of classic instrumentals intermingling with dope verses. The best part? There is variety, I don’t think I can take another rap song thats just repeat, repeat, repeat. It’s music….not shampoo. You can follow his blog as well that has a bunch of interesting visuals at www.beimaejor.com/blog.

PS: Went to Dayglow last night. Un-effing-believable

Events | Aspen – Where the beer flows like wine

Posted by on September 10, 2011

FNT covered Jazz Aspen Snowmass this Labor Day Weekend 2011 in Snowmass Village, CO, cautious of record high cougar percentages. Friday night’s electronic lineup consisted of Something Underground, Sorry for Partying, Paper Diamond, Thievery Corporation, and Girl Talk. The highlights of the night were undoubtedly Paper Diamond and Girl Talk. Paper Diamond threw down an energizing set of fresh beats with a vibe similar to Pretty Lights. Girl Talk followed with a demonstration of true mashup genius fueling a two-hour mountain party. The following night’s lineup included Ryan Bingham and the Dead Horses, Rodrigo y Gabriela, and Steely Dan. The Mexican duo Rodrigo y Gabriela jammed rhythmic and fast acoustic guitars, keeping the crowd thoroughly entertained. Older couples were pleased with Steely Dan’s jazz-influenced style of music.

House | Kaskade Essential Mix

Posted by on September 10, 2011

Kaskade is an absolute boss, that is a fact. Last night he played his first ever essential mix on BBC’s Radio One with Pete Tong and absolutely killed it. Fresh off of being voted the number one DJ in America and deservingly so, his essential mix encompasses everything that is his melodic, euphoric, big room sound, and more. It is packed with hit after hit and is mixed perfectly from song to song. I was a bit disappointed he did not debut another song from his upcoming CD “Fire and Ice” for his first essential mix, but he did play “Turn it Down”, the song he has been playing on Identity Festival with vocals from Rebecca and Fionna. Below is the link to the essential mix and a download link. A track list is after the jump.

Posted by on August 31, 2011

After a quick introduction to the blogosphere, Jay Fresh is back with the highly anticipated visuals to his “Otis” remix which dropped here a few days ago. For a rapper that’s 19 years old, he seems to really have an artistic maturity that places him above the rest. I’m looking forward to more “freshness” as he continues to drops solid tracks on the blog world. Be sure to follow Jay on his journey via Facebook and Twitter, as he represents Dallas while taking the blogosphere by storm. Shout out to El Magico, Jay’s manager, for exclusively sending this over last night.
