Electro | The Knocks – Midnight City feat. Mandy Lee (M83 Cover)
Posted by Mach on February 6, 2012
Wow, The Knocks upload this electro gem of a cover by M83 to their soundcloud about 5 days ago. I got to see The Knocks last summer on Marthas Vineyard while they opened for Chiddy Bang, personally I thought The Knocks performance was much more appreciated than Chiddy Bangs. I actually had never even heard of The Knocks before that night. M83 on the other hand I am familiar with., but nothing else of his work seems to be able to compare to this cover he worked up.

Electro-House, Trance | Porter Robinson (Preview), Wolfgang Gartner, Venom, Maison & Dragen
Posted by W8 on January 31, 2012
Fresh off Above & Beyond’s stellar performance last night, it’s needless to say – I’m still awake. I left the club diagnosed with an evermore addiction to bass thumping, fist pumping, bodies bumping syndrome. So, having been inspired by ruptured ringing ear drums, I dedicate this post to the appreciation of records like these heard in live, real energetic environments.

RnB | Frank Ocean- Voodoo
Posted by GMONEY on January 29, 2012
Frank Ocean’s distinctive sound has arrived in the form of a new track, which he released late last night via his Tumblr account. While the enigmatic artist has yet to provide details about his forthcoming album, the anticipation surrounding the project is notable. While details are scare, “Voodoo” gives us a tiny window as to what we can expect for the album. Frank croons: “She’s got the whole wide world in her juicy fruit he’s got the whole wide world in his pants. He’s got the whole wide world in a wedding band; he put the whole wide world on her hand. She’s got the whole wide world in her hands.” One thing is certain; Frank Ocean has the R&B world in his nostalgic hands. I don’t see him letting go.

DJ-Set, Electro-House, Progressive House | Essential Mix & Selection W/ Madeon, Porter Robinson & Chuckie
Posted by Middy on January 29, 2012
On Friday night, BBC Radio One had a special show from Hull in England with Pete Tong’s Essential Selection show that included a spectacular 20 minute guest set from Madeon, included below, as well as a bonus 4 hours of Essential Mixes from Chuckie, Porter Robinson, Fedde Le Grand (not recorded) and Judge Jules to finish off a marathon night at Hull. Chuckie puts together a fantastic set with some of his new stuff such as his upcoming single “Together”, with his impeccable ability as a live Dj and great song selection. The mix that really stood out for me was Porter Robinson because as his is such as good live Dj, which seems to be a lost art these days and as a 19 year old, it is even more impressive. He is able to flawlessly mix together multiple songs, two or three or more at time, to create ridiculous bootlegs that will always keep you on your toes with a fantastic song selection. Listen to the sets on the BBC Radio One website or download them below. Tracklists after the jump.

Videos | Sammy Adams Performs “Blow Up” on Conan
Posted by GMONEY on January 19, 2012
Making his first major television debut last night, Sammy Adams performed his hit single, “Blow Up” off his forthcoming album dropping this spring. While some had concerns over his brief musical lull, the Sony/RCA signee shows no signs of slowing down with his recent “Into The Wild” mixtape serving as an appetizer before the album. Let’s talk about the verse at the end though. And I quote:
“I went from Boston to Cali/went from Cali to Paris/now I’m killing on primetime don’t try to compare us/team Coco or nothing/so shout out to the family/and the audience hear me I got the heat like Miami/Chillin’ on Conan, we roll from Massachusetts/never been on late night but now I’m up on my music/this dude he’s interviewing/this much air it’s just stupid/so I had to come through it’s Conan O’Brian let’s do it/yeah!”
Anyone else would have stuck to the script. Anyone else would have been to scared to go outside the box on their first national television appearance. Just rollin’ like a boss. That’s why we’ll always support and respect Sammy Adams. He’s never afraid to roll the dice. This is why we’ve been preaching the Sammy Adams gospel since day one. As Sam continues his meteoric rise, don’t be surprised to see him at the top of the charts this year. 2012 could be his biggest year yet.

Dubstep | R Rated #12

Seeing as SOPA is making everyone go nuts over censoring, this picture seemed well suited. Sharing my own opinion, no way it will pass, so everyone relax, haha. Since last Wednesday, Sev and I have come across tons of R worthy tracks, so why limit it this week? Starting from softest to straight up filth we start with iNexus, yet again making it onto this post, and a few much needed remixes of Skrillex. Next we move onto a tight remix of Nero’s Reaching Out and Eminem giving lesbos nightmares again. The Bolivian Marching Affair has a sick original, using the same vocal samples the favored Zomboy used on his EP. Next is a little treat from 12th Planets new EP, which he collaborated on with Skrillex and Kill The Noise who has been on fire lately. The next few tracks get a little serious at this point. X Kore dropped a crazy new track, using some synths I have never heard before, definitely making a name for himself. It has been some time since Millions Like Us has dropped some real filthy s***, better late than never. All credit goes to Sev on finding the new Muzzy remix, chillin to some laid back guitar, then BAM! Last track is something SOPA would need to censor fast before every Disney loving child has to have their toys burnt and the lights left on at night. By the way, does anyone know what the f*** a wobble wednesday is?
