Compilation, DJ-Set | Michael Brun – The Rise Mixtape “WMC 2012”
Posted by GMONEY on March 21, 2012
This is fire. 58 minutes and 53 seconds of fire. Lots of classics in here along with Michael’s usual bag of killer mashups and edits and even a highly anticipated ID track! From holding a top 20 progressive spot on Beatport for his track “Rise” to playing alongside the likes of Norman Dooray and LA Riots in Miami tonight at Dirty South’s “Phazing Nights” at Wall, the sky is the limit for this sub-20 year old. Peep the mix! Tracklist after the jump
Moombahton | Moombah Mondays
Posted by Spice on March 19, 2012
Sev’s got a test to study for so I am bringing you Moombah Mondays tonight. This is a big week for moombahton, with the giant cluster of amazing that is Hard Miami Moombahton Massive happening on Wednesday (D.C. represent…but seriously if you’re in Miami on Wednesday you’d be crazy to miss that) and, of course, tons of artists performing at Ultra over the weekend. No better way to kick it off than with some fresh bangers, so let’s dig right in.
First off, Bro Safari just dropped a remix of SPL’s “Back At It” and you really need to give this one a listen. This track has been getting airtime in a lot of sets recently and for good reason — it goes incredibly hard and brings that funked out moombah vibe to another level. Preview it below or download it on Beatport.
Next up are two awesome tracks from Cyberpunkers. “Dungeon” is probably my favorite track this week — it’s grade A moombahcore and delivers heavy distortions, catchy leads and a swinging bassline. You can’t listen to this and not want to dance.
This second Cyberpunkers track is on par with the above — the break after the drop is basically filthy. Who are these guys and why had I never heard of them before tonight? Their production is dope.
Lots more goodness after the jump…

Dubstep | Dirty South feat. Erik Hecht – Walking Alone (Stepsonics Remix)
Posted by Spice on March 1, 2012
I’m pretty over the shoe artwork for “Walking Alone,” so here’s a dope picture of Ultra to get everyone excited about the fact that WMC 2012 is right around the corner. Stepsonics just dropped a heavy remix of Dirty South’s anthemic track, which maintains the best elements of the original while layering in driving beats and some positively filthy synths. Nothing to complain about there. And don’t even get me started on the drop. I won’t lie, I’ve already added this one to the playlist I’ll be blasting on the flight down to Miami. No harm in planning ahead, right?

House | Nima Nesta & Marco G Ft. Stephen Pickup – Only Human
Posted by Mach on January 12, 2012
Wow, this is quite the freebie house track from Miami’s own Nima Nesta and Marco G. Stephen Pickup comes in on the track with some amazing vocals written by writing legends of house and electro, Tara Mcdonald and Nicole Jenkinson. It’s one thing when an artist drops a great remix, but it is a whole other story when an artist releases a free original that knocks you off your feet. It was definitely a great day in music releases.

Hip-Hop, Pop, RnB | Qwote
Posted by Grubeats on December 24, 2011
Quote has broken FNT ground a few times before, but I felt his resume qualified him for a solo post. Supplying bangers as thick as the back side of this broad, the Miami native has worked with some of the game’s best including Pitbull, Rick Ross, J.R. Rotem, & Jim Jonsin to name a few. The pop/rnb/hip-hop go getter has a very fluent and bodacious voice that allows him to work so versatilely with all these artists. I’ve yet to hear Qwote on the radio up in New England, but once people get a shot of this guys music, I have a feeling they’ll be calling for a second round very soon after. Below is his most recent mixtape, Love Her Lips, highlighted with a few of my favorite cuts.
“My goal is to create a new lane that can bring fresh innovative music that touches the soul and evokes thought, passion, and creativity on another level.”

Progressive House | Dimitri Vegas, Like Mike, Promise Land & Mitch Crown – Alarma
Posted by Middy on December 21, 2011
The Belgian duo, Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike have combined with the Italian Duo Promise Land to give us this bomb, “Alarma” with Mitch Crown on the vocals. First previewed way back over the summer, “Alarma” was first scheduled to be released on Halloween with that packed release date, but got pushed back until the 19th. It has the heavy hitting synths you expect from Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike as well as the smooth piano builds from Promise Land. There is also the Miami 305 mix, which is a remix title that Promise Land uses a lot, which takes out the vocals. Get them on Beatport HERE.

DJ-Set, Events | Swedish House Mafia @ MSG 12/16/11
Posted by Middy on December 17, 2011
Last night was history, and millions of people around the world with 20,000 in attendance were able to witness Swedish House Mafia becoming the first electronic act to ever headline the historic Madison Square Garden and brought that place to another universe. There are simply no words to describe what happened at Madison Square Garden last night it was that good. Their stage presence was off the charts, the visuals and effects were unreal with fireworks (whaaaaat inside MSG!?!?!) and the song choice and mixing was outrageous. It was the true live experience with all 20,000 people in the crowd belting out the lyrics and melodies to all the songs with Tinie Tempah AND John Martin showing up to do vocals for “Miami to Ibiza” and “Save the World”. The only thing missing was Pharrel doing the vocal version of “One” and the roof may have come down. They played a bunch of upcoming stuff on Size and Axtone and possibly a new song of theirs at the very beginning that was incredible. Listening to this set does not do the night justice, only being there would be true justice to what happened last night, but enjoy this set because it was f*cking incredible. Tracklist after the jump.
