Future Trap | San Holo Debuts on Monstercat with ‘Victory’ EP
Posted by JT on May 5, 2015
Loyal followers of this household name to the future dubstep genre are excited, and they should be, because San Holo has taken a major step in his career by releasing on Monstercat what he is sampling with the title track, ‘Victory’, as an intelligent combination of high strung chords and heavy bass lines. It starts off with a strong grungy intro, transitioning into a trap-inspired bassline, and finally blending with a melodic synth, which is surprising because it maintains a mellow atmosphere throughout the entire track. Do yourself a favour and press play on this bad boy – you will not be disappointed.

In the past year or so, we have seen the rise of many new forms of electronic music. Today, we bring to you a new track by one of the pioneers of the Cinematic-Electronic music – Stereoshock. Stereoshock’s new track “Chasing Dusk” – like all of his work – takes us on an incredible journey, invoking thought and emotion, and surrounding us with pure melodic music. He put it perfectly when he said, “Throughout the record, you can truly feel all of the emotions that I felt during the writing process; from uplifting and powerful, to isolated and distant.” This is one of those tracks where you just let the music do the talking – so sit back, close your eyes, and get ready to begin the ride. Off the official OWSLA Carmada remix pack comes ‘Dr. Fresch’ with his genre busting remix of “Maybe”.
This progressively gets darker and teases you with what is to come after the drop. After the first breakdown as we approach the bridge; ‘Fresch’ mixes things up and goes into a slow melodic trap beat with 808 snares with a much softer synth. This unexpected beat change from the 4 on the floor house kicks to melodic trap, is the perfect way to gently move you on to another song…that is if you haven’t already hit replay.

Electronic | The Remix ‘This Could Be Love’ Needed
Posted by Juicebox on March 9, 2015
It’s always exciting when you come across a track you can’t really put a label on or place in a genre. For his (or her) first release ever, AVNU has delivered a very ‘mellow’ and ‘chill’ remix that is rooted in 808s that has left all of us struggling to really define what sound this is. The one thing we do know is that this track is just beautiful and exactly what the original needed. The vocal cuts, the melodic but simple builds; everything about this track is what seemed to be missing in the remix competition Borgeous & Shaun Frank launched last month. Our hats are off to you AVNU.
