Having DJ in front kind of steals away the fire of being an artist, how many DJs do you know of? The answer is a lot. With that said, ‘N3AKO’ dropped this bomb of a mashup. I was wondering when someone would successfully remix or mash the Cinema Skrillex remix. Never crossed my mind that Porter Robinson would add the perfect mix. Make sure you check out his new FANPAGE.

Mashups | Dub Mash Productions and Stylust

School has started, which means mashup artist such as Dub Mash Productions are going to be dropping many new mashups, so they don’t have to do homework. They may only be a duo that is 16/17 years old (sorry if I missed the birthday guys), but they produce high quality mashups. I just so happened to feature one of them on my Dubstep Essentials (House Essentials Coming Very Soon).

Stylust has been mashing Hip-Hop for quite some time now, with many great mashes under his belt. I was wondering when someone was going to try and mash Pretty Light’s “Country Roads” remix, i thought about giving it a go myself. I was very skeptical about how Rich Boy would sound, but second i pressed play, I realized Stylust just added another sick mash to his resume.

There have been quite a few mashups of calling, since its epic release. As the anthem of many festivals and even concerts such as Avicii and Tiesto, this beat is not an easy mash. Not only is the name of it creative, but out of all the acapellas to cover calling, “Just Dance” sounds great! Big ups to DOSVEC for creating one of the better mashes of “Calling.”

This week FNT resident DJ, DJ JurisDoc, was uninspired by the lastest releases in EDM so he held off on creating his weekly DJ Set. Even so, we managed to squeeze an EPIC bootleg out of him which feautures an eloquent mash of Benny Benassi, Axis One, and vocals from the one and only C Breezy. 3LAU is the Avicii of college artists right now…the kid’s gone from 5 Facebook likes to almost 5k in just a few months, went from taking his sister to prom to dating BIGLIFE’s ex gf, and he’s mastered the production game so we’ll even Afrojack would be impressed. Because everyone and their sister these days seems to be producing mashups, the notable few at the top hold their dominant position due to one thing…creativity. Never in my right mind would I have imagined being able to mash anything over the heavy drops/whomps Skrillex & Nero created with “Promises”…I guess that’s why I’m the one sitting in my grandmother’s basement and 3LAU’s out touring.

If you’ve been paying attention to FNT over the past year, chances are you’ve heard the name Sex Ray Vision or have at least seen or heard some derivative of their hit My Beach House in this summer hottest mash ups. Well in case you haven’t, the duo decided to flip their original masterpiece with a heavier bassline, some extra synths, and most notably new vocals. If you’re losing sight of the summer as we close in on the Fall semester, let this up-tempo hit bring you back to that mindset. As a bonus I’ve included my favorite mashup that features the original My Beach House, be sure to check it out!
