Moombahton | D!RTY AUD!O x Aylen feat. Jitta On The Track – Different Cities (Original Mix)
Posted by Sev on June 29, 2012
Two of my favorite upcoming Moombahton artist have collaborated on what seems to be this summers Moombah anthem for me. Also featuring an upcoming vocalist/artist as well, named Jitta On The Track, who just finished opening on tour for Waka Flocka and Drake. This track has it all for me; appealing vocals, heavy bass, good melody, and a unique drop. The track starts off with a nice popping synth and melody that slowly progresses into some dope lyrics by Jitta, which sets it all up for the bass filled drop. Hip-Hop, Rap | Hit-Boy – Jay-Z Interview (Official Video)
Posted by J_Salzer on June 10, 2012
I hadn’t gotten around to watching this video because I thought it was an ACTUAL interview with Hit-Boy about Jay-Z…turns out, Hit-Boy titled the song “Jay Z Interview.” So sorry for the tardiness of this post. If you are not familiar with Hit-Boy, he produces for the likes of…well…everyone. Hit-Boy is signed to Kanye’s West’s GOOD Music, and the grammy nominated beat maker tries his hand at rapping in this video. His lyrics and wordplay is incredible, and his flow seems almost…Kanye like. I did find it interesting that he didn’t produce this track himself. Even if Hit-Boy’s career as a rapper doesn’t take off, he can always fall back on making dope beats.
Hip-Hop, Videos | Mayo – Time to Go (Video)
Posted by J_Salzer on May 20, 2012
Mayo drops off his newest track/video, which will be featured on his upcoming mixtape “Dream Big.” The song features much deeper and meaningful lyrics from Mayo. The beat he chose is perfect for the tone of the song, and lets him deliver his verses smoothly and soulfully. Mayo had this to say about the track,
“[t]his track is one of my personal favorites off my mixtape; not because of the heavy lyrical content of the song, but more of what I had to say in the track. I feel like it is one of my realest tracks I have made and hope everyone can really vibe out and enjoy this track it is somewhat of a different release from me, but I find different to be better in some cases. I can’t wait to release my mixtape this summer I have been putting a lot of work into but for now enjoy this new track and visual!”

Indie, Pop | The Knocks-Learn To Fly
Posted by ATexas on May 8, 2012
You’ve heard them with “Dancing with the DJ” and their very popular “Midnight City,” so here they are again! The Knocks combine indie, electro, jazz(?), and whatever the hell they want to do. They’re sweet beat and dope lyrics will make you go into a trance. Love it. Leave it. Whatever. Don’t care.

Hip-Hop | Easy Does It – Pocket Full Of Change
Posted by GMONEY on April 30, 2012
As you wind down your weekend tonight, take a moment to check out the latest original release from Easy Does It. Time and time again, Easy Does It delivers smooth, laid back jams that you can’t help but keep on repeat (dont believe me? Check out Feelin Like Ooh). In Pocket Full Of Change, Easy Does It couples deep lyricism with a light rock instrumental. This unique style put me at a loss for how to categorize this track, is it Hip-Hop? kinda. Is it rock? A little. Or, maybe its a new genre. Maybe its “Easy Does It”…

Hip-Hop | Nas – Daughters
Posted by J_Salzer on April 26, 2012
It’s been a minute since we had some Nas that really went back to his old days. But this is pretty dang close. Nas tells us a story catering to all of the fathers with daughters out there. And although I’m sure not many of you have daughters, you can still empathize and enjoy Nas’ flow and lyricism. Check out the lyrics on Rap Genius below along with verified explanations from Nas himself. And although I can not even begin to comprehend the feeling of being responsible for another human being, I hope you guys can enjoy this song as much as me. Nasir guides us on a tale that is both thought AND emotion envoking, and even though I don’t have kids of my own, I can only hope to one day be able to deal with the highs and lows of raising a baby girl. Monologue over.
Progressive House | Madeon – Icarus (Collin McLoughlin Vocal Edit)
Posted by GMONEY on April 23, 2012
Collin McLoughlin latest release, an uplifting Vocal Edit of Madeon’s Icarus, is nothing short of epic. Not only does Collin preserve the same exhilarating feel that characterizes Madeon’s music, but he also developed lyrics which expand upon the central theme of the original song. As Collin himself describes,
Feeling inspired by the song I set out to create lyrics that related to the original Icarus story
For those of you who are unfamiliar with the story of Icarus and need a quick refresher course on Greek Mythology, please allow Wikipedia to bring you up to speed:
The main story told about Icarus is his attempt to escape from Crete by means of wings that his father constructed from feathers and wax. He ignored instructions not to fly too close to the sun, and the melting wax caused him to fall into the sea where he drowned.
So take a moment, bask in the the production greatness that Madeon never fails to provide, and really pay close attention to the beautiful lyrics that Collin so masterfully composed.
