Chill, Deep House | Ben E. King – Stand By Me (Shemce Remix)
Posted by Middy on October 19, 2014
Tropical house is it right now. Even as the warmth fades away (unless you are in the Southern Hemisphere) and the cold starts to creep into your bodies, that summertime all the time mentality lives strong within this vibrant sub-genre. As premiered by the folks at TSIS, Kingston, Ontario based producer Shèmce takes the classic “Stand By Me” from Ben E. King and adds his own blissful spin on the tune. It is free, so make sure you grab this one.

House | Adrian Lux – Teenage Crime (Shèmce Remix)

The Axwell & Dirty South remix will always remain king, but in the overwhelming amount of remixes that befell this track over the past few years, it is nice to hear one that is a little different. Going with the tropical, summery brand of house that has been in vogue lately, Shèmce adds his own guitar, whistle and piano to the tune. The summer is almost out so grab this tune for that one last gasp in the season. It is free, so you have to get it.

Progressive House | Michael Jackson – Slave to the Rhythm (Audien Remix)

Remixing the king of pop is no easy task. Add to that, making it an official remix as an up and coming artist makes it an even greater challenge. Audien steps right up and delivers something a little different from his other tracks like “Hindsight”, but meshes right in with the tune.

Progressive House | Coldplay – A Sky Full Of Stars (Moiez Bootleg)

The Avicii / Coldplay combo has been absolutely killer, acting as a crossover from the radio to the festival stage to TV / commercial uses. Even the slightly lackluster Hardwell remix shot up to the top of the Beatport charts*. In steps Moiez to deliver a dynamite melodic remix that adds some big reverbed synths, while still leaning on the handiwork of king veech and Coldplay. Grab this now before the labels buy up soundcloud and take down remixes like this.

Contests, Featured | Win A Pair Of Paul van Dyk’s Special Edition Toms
Posted by Middy on July 15, 2014

DJs are the new global music superstars, and this has led to all sorts of endorsement deals and brand partnerships. While high profile ones have included Tiesto & 7UP, Tiesto & Guess (he is really the king of this) and Avicii & Ralph Lauren to name a few, trance legend Paul van Dyk has not precluded himself form getting a piece of this pie. He recently announced a partnership with clothing brand Toms, where he, like many sports stars will have his own limited edition sneaker AND sunglasses line that is available right now.
We are happy to be giving away one pair of the TOMS Pasea Mids for one lucky winner to upgrade their shoe game. These kicks are fire and I am jealous of whoever wins this contest. Peep them on PVD below and enter the punchtab widget for your chance to win. If you want the sunglasses or the slip-ons, go and grab them here.
Chill, Hip-Hop | Nelly – Ride Wit Me (Viceroy “Jet Life” Remix)
Posted by Grubeats on April 7, 2014
This is precisely why us East-coasters love Viceroy. While you spoiled Californian’s, Texan’s, Floridians, and any other Southern-ians have warm weather all year round, us New Englander’s are hitting the beach the minute it hits 60 degrees in April. The king of “Summertime All The Time” hits us with a filthy remix of vintage Nelly – Ride Wit Me. If you’re looking for windows down music, regardless of the temperature outside, look no further.
