Electro-House, Preview | DallasK – Heaven (Preview)
Posted by Middy on July 13, 2013
DallasK has quietly had himself an outstanding year with several critically acclaimed originals like “Alienz” and “Vice“. The Kindergarten Records signee and Wolfgang Gartner understudy presents the preview to his latest original as he approaches a significant social media milestone in his young and promising career. As a thank you to his nearly 20k Facebook fans (he is at just over 19k now), he has previewed a track he will be giving away when he hits that number. In this age when artists can explode in popularity overnight and their social media numbers explode in kind, many do not want to give out very good material because these milestones come too often. From what we can hear in the 51 seconds of “Heaven”, it sounds as though DallasK is giving out a quality addition to his discography, using a well-placed Killers sample.
Progressive House | OneRepublic – Counting Stars (Lonczinski Remix)
Posted by Mel on July 2, 2013
We’ve already heard many OneRepublic remixes but, at least for me, this was the first “Counting Stars” remix I’ve come across. I have become very familiar with Lonczinski’s style, probably because it is as generic as they come. That doesn’t mean it’s not good though. Well, kind of. These types of songs are good for a few days, but will you be listening to it two weeks from now? Unlikely. It’s producers like this who need to step out of the box and make something with staying power. Sure, this song’s not bad, it’s actually quite good seeing as how I feel the desire to post it, but this type of music is shallow and if a producer only sticks to this formula then they are clearly taking the easy way out. You should know something is wrong when a person can say “yeah, this is a good song” after listening and still not care enough to download it.

Hip-Hop, Trap | 813 – Glitter Sand

813 comes through with another hot single for the Summer, with the sole purpose of feeling good day and night. I like the style of trap that 813 went with, kind of sounds like something Cashmere Cat would release. Awesome releases coming from 813 this Summer, I have a good feeling he will just keep his flow moving so keep an eye out for him.

Hip-Hop | Gangstarr – Skillz (Billain Remix)

Billain mixed up a classic he always wanted to and this was the result. In the background you can kind of pick up on that neuro style he normally works with. The vocal samples are laid out perfectly, Billain has got me bumping hard to this remix.

Pop | Charlie Brennan – Somebody New

Most of you will remember Charlie Brennan’s single from last year, entitled ‘Chicago’, that still lives up to the moment. Now back after a brief absence, the teenager scores again with his newest single Somebody New. The kind of song that fits perfectly into a summer playlist. Click over to Itunes and get it for a dollar.

Mashups, Mix | DOSVEC – “A.D.D.” Radio Show Episode #4
Posted by BIGLIFE on June 12, 2013
The only Mashup Radio Show in America is really highlighting how different genres can come together and flow at 128bpm. “A.D.D.” isn’t just another mix show it is DOSVEC creating a 55 minute mix album every month. The way so many eras come together shows his creativity and not just focusing on one kind of sound.
The last song of Episode #4 is an Exclusive A Capella from Meiko’s “Bad Things”, the song currently used by Bravo to promote Real House Wives of NJ. Receiving material from original artists to be featured on “A.D.D.” will insure to keep the show fresh and never stale.
Albums, Review | A Belated Discussion of Random Access Memories

By now, you’ve already listened to Daft Punk’s fourth album in full. You may have streamed it on iTunes, or downloaded the rip when it leaked (even though ain’t nobody got time for 192 kbps…), or perhaps you waited patiently and saved your first listen for the official, high quality, purchasable version. Your opinion of the album is probably already cemented.
But that won’t stop me from trying to change it.
