Mashups | DOSVEC – Recipe Girl

Posted by on April 3, 2012

DOSVEC loved Kendrick Lamar’s new collaboration with Dr. Dre so much he just had to do somethign with it. Using the laid-back instrumentals from ‘Recipe,’ DOSVEC turned this track into a baby maker, adding in Pitbulls ‘Go Girl.’ The two work amazingly well together despite what the haters will say due to how recent the release of ‘Recipe’ was. I will say it again, this sick mashup is a bedroom track for sure.

Hip-Hop | Kendrick Lamar ft. Dr. Dre – The Recipe

“Every morning when I wake up (uh)/ Money on my mind, go time to get caked up (uh)/ Sunshine coming through my blinds, I’m living but/ Really though, it’s never enough, $10 billion, that’s a must.”

Kendrick Lamar releases his highly anticipated first single sampling Twin Sister’s “Meet The Frownies” from his upcoming TDE/Aftermath/Interscope debut album scheduled to drop later this year.  From the harmony of the chorus to the almost hypnotizing sample of Twin Sister’s singing, the synergy between the two artists leaves a burning impression in my musical memory bank. This is true musicianship.

Hip-Hop, Videos | Nardwuar vs. Kendrick Lamar

Nardwuar is single handedly taking SXSW by storm.  He’s been on an absolute tear, interviewing A$AP Rocky, Action Bronson, Danny Brown, and now K. Dot.  Per usual, Nardwuar leaves K. Dot’s mind boggled, wondering where he dug up such personal information.  As “A” said earlier this week, Narduar is hands down the best interviewer in hip-hop and the current streak he is on at SXSW only adds to his legendary track record.  12 minutes with Nardwuar will change your life.  Doot Doola Doot Doo… Doot Doo!

Who would be the most interesting Nardwuar interview?

Hip-Hop, Rap, Videos | Game – The City ft. Kendrick Lamar [Video]

It doesn’t get much better than a Kendrick Lamar feature these days.  Yeah, Game can still make a solid track, but K. Dot slaughters this this hook and the acapella at the end is unparalleled.  Personally, this is my favorite record off Game’s album, R.E.D., which shaped up to be a respectable project despite the years of continued delay it kept receiving.  There is a quote at the end of the video by Game, describing in a nutshell what the video represents and how he has overcome hardships like no other to make it to where he is today.

“Los Angeles, CA – Though sometimes colorful, there are two colors that stand out the most…Those colors being red and blue.  When mixed together, these two colors cast a dark shadow over everything under the sun.  Most are still fighting to see the light.” – Game

Hip-Hop, Rap | Trae Tha Truth – I’m On 2.0

Posted by on February 3, 2012

Trae Tha Truth uses his connections to recruit some of the biggest names in the hip hop industry to supply us with an epic remix to Mark Morrison’s, I’m On. I’m honestly shocked that Trae the Truth had the ability to recruit this much talent for one of his tracks, so I am lost for words.

Hip-Hop | Azad Right – Growing Apart ft. AHE & Jhene Aiko

Azad dropped this new track, Growing Apart, with tranquil production sampling Kendrick Lamar, who Azad has recently shared the stage with.  Digging deep, this emotional relationship track is something most all of you can probably relate too.  No word on where this track may fall, but expect Azad’s new tape dropping soon.

Hip-Hop, Rap | Meek Mill – Lean Wit It

Posted by on January 3, 2012

Here’s the first single off Meek Mill’s upcoming mixtape. Lean Wit It is a Cardiak produced track for the streets. If Meek Mill is supplying us with bangers like this on Dream Chaser’s 2, then this upcoming project is going to be DOPE.

Kendrick Lamar gives ScHoolboy Q a verse for his title track Blessed, which should serve as one of the more popular song off ScHoolboy Q’s upcoming project, Habits & Contradictions. Believe it or not, I’m not just posting this track because Kendrick Lamar is on it. If you haven’t checked out ScHoolboy Q’s music, you definitely should as Habits & Contradictions is shaping up to be a great project.

Here’s Tyga’s new track off his upcoming project featuring Lil Wayne. Yes, I know it dropped days ago, but for some reason we never got around to posting it. Even though I’m not a fan of Tyga and fully expected a Lil Wayne feature on this drop you can’t deny the fact that a lot of people are going to listen to this song.

I’ve been meaning to post this next track for almost a week now. R&B upcomer, Emanny recently dropped his latest track titled Don’t Say Shit. I’ve been listening to Emanny for awhile now and this track shows some Trey Songz type ability.
