Events, Home, Review, Videos | Aokify America: Steve Aoki x Borgore x Waka Flocka Flame (Recap)
Posted by FilthyTaft on November 21, 2013
The title says it all – Dim Mak hooked FNT up with passes so that we could cover the show. Steve Aoki, Borgore, and Waka Flocka made a dream team on Saturday night at the Bill Graham Civic Center in San Francisco, and they put on one hell of a show. Check out the media gallery below (especially the POV recap video), and make sure to check out the rest of the tour’s stops before you miss it altogether here.
To give you a better picture of what the concert was like, keep in mind that the show was somehow sold out (it was at the Civic Center in San Francisco, imagine how many people it takes to sell out a concert there). Borgore had an incredible opening set, playing his classics as you’d expect (e.g. Nympho). But, he surprised everyone towards the end of his set when he started dropping some unheard trap and moombahton – some HEAVY trap and moombahton I might add. By this point, everyone was completely riled up – but it doesn’t stop there because just when it seemed like a peak, Borgore brought out Waka Flocka who yelled an entire verse to a wild audience.
But hold up – Steve Aoki starts his set at this point. Mind-blowing is an understatement. Between his stage dives, cake throws, bottle pops, and raft rides, Steve Aoki slapped his bangers so hard that his dad’s restaurants almost went out of business (his dad owns Benihana’s). He played every song that you would wish he would play live. And he killed all of them.
Moral of the story is, if you didn’t go, you missed out. Put Aoki on the bucket list.

No worries ya’ll Trill Tuesday, well Wednesday now, is here and CJ Trillo delivers yet another laid back jam produced by his right-hand man, Jim I.E. I really enjoy CJ’s music, to me it’s a fresh breath of air after listening to many of the artists I do because what he brings to the table is a different, unique style, which sets his music apart. Check out his latest project “Heavy” if you like what you hear and catch up with him via his social media outlets below.
Albums, Hip-Hop | CJ Trillo – Heavy

Last April I came across CJ Trillo (formerly Sucka Free CJ) and posted his recent single release “Slow It Down”, which was off his upcoming project. Finally we have just that, Heavy. This is Trillo’s third installment in a trilogy of free albums. Each showcasing his individuality and lyrical ability through his music. Tracks like “Comeback Kid”, “The Christening”, “Call This Home”, “Something More”, and “Open”, just to name a few, prove that. If you’re looking for something new I suggest you give this a listen. You can get the download below and check his previous work on his official website.

Dubstep | jOBOT, Oscillator Z, Chrispy, and SKisM

For those of you who have already pressed play, I know what you are thinking. I thought the same thing, “Not as heavy or dubby as I expected, but I still like it.” This track is a perfect balance of old school meets new school, great party starter.

I love it when dubstep artist pick old school vocals to remix. Especially when they are followed by a cool, original sounding drop.

I can feel the fear that Chrispy must have meant for us to feel while listening to this HEAVY masterpiece. Watch out for that drop, it could kill you…or make you deaf.

This remix is set to release on Porter Robinson’s upcoming EP, “SPITFIRE,” Sept. 13th on Beatport. It will be the first release from Skrillex’s new label, OWSLA. This remix is insane, if dubstep artists received belts like in Karate, SKisM would be a Chuck Norris. I believe that is a real belt, if not, take it up with Chuck’s fist.
