Mix | Feel The Soul In Michael Calfan’s Exclusive Mix For TomorrowWorld
Posted by Juicebox on July 29, 2015
Following the trapped out mix by Shaq Aka DJ Diesel and the diversified feature by Benny Benassi, France’s Michael Calfan is the next artist heading to the Chattahoochee Hills of Georgia that will preview what he has coming in September with an Exclusive TomorrowWorld mix. Calfan really took hold in the modern dance age with his reinvented soul house sound. It’s super upbeat, super feel-good, and has a demeanor that surprisingly fits on the main stage alongside big room. For this mix, the Parisian maestro leads us through a selection of tracks from Riva Starr’s “The Loft” to his own remix of “Koala” to Watermät and MOGUAI’s recently dropped “Portland.” Full of soul, groove, and bass, Michael Calfan keeps our ears satisfied for all 60 minutes of the mix, and the best part is its for free download
Tickets for TomorrowWorld are available in limited quantities here.

Events, Videos | TommorowWorld Releases Trailer, Tickets still on Sale
Posted by Middy on June 19, 2013
It is old news now that Tomorrowland has expanded its reaches worldwide, first to the United States and possibly in the future to other parts of the world. The festival taking place between September 27-29 in Georgia has been slowly revealing its lineup, with names like Hardwell, Axwell, A-trak, Alesso, Ferry Corsten, Jamie Jones, Tiesto, Porter Robinson & Sebastian Ingrosso set to take the stage. They have just released the trailer for the festival, drawing on footage from last years Tomorrowland and using tracks from the official ambassadors, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, including two unreleased songs. Is it just me or does the last one “WeHa”, set to be the Tomorrowland anthem, sound awfully similar to “Wakanda”? Tickets are still on sale for a much more reasonable price than the $500 you will be dropping for GA at Ultra right now, so go ahead and purchase those now.
Albums | Jonny Craig — The Lives We Live (prod. Captain Midnite) [Video]
Posted by jeffwbaird on June 3, 2013
Every once in awhile a producer comes around who really grabs my attention. Generally it’s because they seem to share such similar taste; the kind of producer who essentially makes the kinds of beats I would if I was any good. That for me, recently, has been Captain Midnite, whose stellar solo EP, All This Will Fade, was released on the site back in October. Where Midnite really excels, though, is when he sits down with a single artist and produces an entire project, like he’s done with Georgia rapper Kyle Lucas. In those instances, he is able to create a sound that is the ideal of the studio album—where collectively the work sounds much more impressive than the individual cut. Recently, he has paired up with Canadian-American singer/rocker Jonny Craig, who, after serving as the frontman for a handful of bands, is readying his first solo project for a summer release. The first single, “The Lives We Live”, is another great Midnite track, fit with some impressively soulful vocals from Craig. Check it out, and get excited for the album set to release in the upcoming months.
Events | TomorrowWorld Announces Its Official Arrival to the USA
Posted by Middy on March 20, 2013
The news is somewhat tempered by leaks in the past few weeks, but the news is official — the world’s best and most unique festival is expanding to the US after 8 years in Belgium. It will make landfall in Chatahoochee Hills, Georgia, 30 miles outside of Atlanta, the location of Counterpoint Festival, for the weekend of September 27-29. This is huge news for several reasons. One, does this mean the rumored move of Counterpoint Festival to New York this year that was later refuted by Counterpoint is back on? Or will it move to another place in the US? A change in date to earlier in the summer would be difficult with the intense Georgia heat, so it remains to be seen what will happen, but either way it seems that there is no way they can both co-exist the way things are at the moment.
Also one must look at it from the perspective of ID&T, the founders of Tomorrowland, Sensation, Mysteryland, Energy and other events, and why they came to the US. One reason is $$$$$$$$$. The second is there is an enormous market that is only growing is size that wants more dance music events. Now will this make the brand of Tomorrowland less unique and special, and somehow dilute the product? I don’t think they would have expanded without knowing that any hit to the quality would then hurt the general brand. Overall, it remains to be seen how the expansion will turn out, but with a landscape similar to Boom back in Belgium, the fields of Georgia seem like the ideal place for this.
Tickets go on sale April 27th at 11am EST for US residents and May 4 at 11 EST for the rest of the world. You must pre-register to get access to these tickets and the pre-registration is open now. One rather important sticking point is that the festival is 21+ (thanks draconian US drinking laws). More info on their website.
Hip-Hop, Rap | A Group Forgotten: Live On Arrival
Posted by GMONEY on April 9, 2012
Thank God for the shuffle feature on my iPod. If it wasn’t for that, I wouldn’t of remembered one of my favorite hip hop acts from over a decade ago…. yes a decade ago. Live On Arrival, or better known as LOA, was a hip hop group from Atlanta, G.A. that was popular in the South from the mid 90s to the early to mid 2000s. One of the most unique sounds out, Live On Arrival’s tracks present a fresh throwback sound that hip hop is missing today. Live On Arrival put out three albums and countless mixtapes during their run, but now cease to exist as the hip hop industry has evolved into what we are now listening to today. With that being said, take this music for what it is: a breath of fresh air. If you like LOA, be sure to check out Collective Efforts. Ben Hameen, the lead vocalist for Collective Efforts found and formed LOA in the early 1990s.
