Fresh off the release of his EP Flashin’, Worthy is a back with a booty bouncing remix of B-Ju’s “Ass Club.” In case you’re still getting familiar with tech-house, this is a sub-genre properly titled future booty house, aka a booty shaker that’s far beyond its years. In addition to the release, Worthy dropped a tech-house mix that you can enjoy here. Let this track be the starter to your night, soon enough it’ll be time to get those shot glasses out and get the pre-game started while you’re getting ready. Shake that ass! This is a must listen and a must download!

Hip-Hop, Videos | Terence Ryan — Whiskey Citizen [Music Video]

It’s been almost two years since I first heard “Alan’s Right”, and was instantly made aware of the tremendous talent this man possesses. Sure, it’s extremely rare to find an artist (especially at his age) who has learned to expertly produce, mix, rap, sing, and write—but more so, it’s the fact that he has also managed to create a completely distinctive and unrepeatable sound. A sound that certainly was influenced by everything from indie singer-songwriters to underground hip-hop, yet it mimics nothing. With every new release I’m able to see the progress in his production, writing, and his ear—with each release more melodic, more honest, and deeper than the last. He’s been extremely hard at work this year creating what will be “The Revival” album, and today we receive the first release. It’s catchy, yet it resonates, and bares an amount of heart and maturity that we rarely see today. To classify him into any genre would be doing him a disservice, so just check out the song, and appreciate it for the engrossing music that it is.
Hip-Hop, Videos | Dylan Owen — My Name Is Dylan [Freestyle]
Posted by jeffwbaird on November 13, 2013
Over the past few years of closely following the trajectories of upstart artists (rappers in particular), one of the most important characteristics of the more enduring artists I’ve found is their versatility. Dylan Owen has rightfully received a tremendous amount of praise since 2011’s Keep Your Friends Close, all synonymous with his innate ability to gratify a variety of listeners with equal ease: honesty-craving singer-songwriter fans, lyrically-focused hip-hop heads, punchline-loving partygoers. While his most recent release, “The Window Seat”, is what he’s best known for—the maturity of perspective, the resonance of his songwriting, the lasting substance—here he concocts a quick reminder that he, too, can playfully rap with the best of them. Reminiscent of the verse he premiered prior to our interview together a year ago, this track is punchline-heavy, and shows off his wittiness and love to play with language. A must listen, regardless of your preconceived genre-affiliations.
Progressive House | John Newman – Love Me Again (Steerner Bootleg)

Not long after the release of his “Turn Back Time” bootleg, Steerner is back with another huge track and once again he crushes it. Tracks like these are what keep people interested in the increasingly stale genre that is progressive house. Steerner is easily one of the top young guys coming out of Sweden. All of his productions are just so full and of a professional standard. I enjoy this song so much that I’m going to have to borrow VMan’s ingenious saying and toss down a must listen and must download on this one!
Reggae, Trap | Electric Bodega Feat. Dr. Blum – Body Mova

One thing’s for certain with these past releases, Electric Bodega wants you to shake your ass, and properly titled “Body Mova,” this beat will get you moving. I wasn’t sure what genre this is so I called it reggae trap with original reggae vocals from Dr. Blum, and I can bet that this record is going to be getting a lot love from the DJs in the clubs. I can already see it: butts, on butts on butts. Two thumbs up, this is a must listen and cop that free download!

Alternative, RnB | Joel Compass – Run (Video)
Posted by admin on October 18, 2013
This is the latest release from the newest Photo Finish artist Joel Compass – the video for his newest single, “Run”, was released a few days ago via Vevo. “Run” is the lead single from Joel’s forthcoming LP, tentatively scheduled for release during the first quarter of 2014. “Run” premiered on BBC Radio 1 during Zane Lowe’s show back in late September as his ‘Hottest Record.’
I’ve always had a soft spot for R&B music -I can thank John Legend for that- and perhaps it’s this predisposition which attracts me to Joel Compass so easily. But, even if R&B isn’t your go-to genre, this young artist has enough originality and crossover appeal to really leave a mark.
Enjoy the song and video and stay tuned for his LP coming soon!
Progressive House | Mako – Our Story
Posted by Mel on October 14, 2013
Quite honestly, there is a lot of house music these days that feels shallow and empty. That is definitely not the impression one gets after listening to Mako’s latest original “Our Story”. It’s nice to hear music that feels like it was made by actual musicians instead of people who have been playing around in Logic or FL Studio for a few months and are aware of the simple formula that is progressive house. Mako is what this genre needs and it’s a shame there’s not many more producers like them. I really can’t say enough good things about these guys so I suggest you just take a listen. “Our Story” is Mako’s best work so far and an all around great progressive house track.
