Versatile is Tim Gunter’s middle name. Beginning with hip hop beats, moving to electro, and now tackling the trap genre, Tim has proven that his production game is on point in all areas. Sampling Tommy Trash’s amazing track Cascade, Tim uses the great synths and throws in a bass line and some heavy hitting drums to get the great trap elements. Be on the lookout for more Tim Gunter drops, this is only the beginning for him.

This image above accurately depicts my hiearchy of diversified beats for ’12. Call me weird, but I like to hear tracks as though they’re alive… as if a monster is trying to express itself through sound. This has the most chilling effect, and all these have that. Honourable mentions go to an abundance of EDM tunes that don’t appear on the list. I am forever indebted to that insane energy; no other genre can comprehend, but for now let’s have some alternative listens.

Up and coming producer Owen Bones delivers an awesome electro… um… abstract, bassy thing? Well the genre really isn’t important, haha. Having a little bit of everything thrown into this track, Owen Bones created something worth more than a single listen in one sitting. Aspiring to work with Diplo, Owen Bones is an 18 year old Chicago native who has been producing for only a year now. I think he would be an awesome Purple Bass producer if he committed to the style. Owen has incredibly creative vibes throughout this entire remix.

It is hard to get enough of this perfect genre blend. Trance and Dubstep were meant to be together because the child they produced is one of the most incredible sounds to come into EDM. Elliot Berger went all in with this original and Thallie’s vocals were just the icing on the cake. How do you like your emotions served? I prefer mine with smooth bass.

Mach and I have posted this track before, but it was just a preview on one of the R Rated segments. Producer Deadpool Dubstep has changed his alias name to something more fitting for him and also released this crazy remix as a free download. Ommi (Deadpool Dubstep) is going to contine creating his crazy tunes, but now he has the genre restriction removed that was given to him from his name. Caspa has not been producing like he use to, in fact the once household name of Dubstep is now lost in the basement somewhere. This remix is actually an oldie of his that he has been ‘hoarding.’ Finally, Caspa has graced our ear with a download worth… well, downloading haha. An old, unofficial remix of Deadmau5′ “FML,” this is a vibed out Dubstep tune. Really brings you back to the earlier, simpler times of the genre.
