The team over at Solé Bicycles are back with their latest installment of the Solé Fixtape Series. Solé has been absolutely crushing this mix series enlisting everyone from Goldroom to RAC. Straight from Solé themselves, “It’s CLEARLY summer in Australia.  Transient and euphoric, yet funky, the vibes will plop you down next to a pile of sand, a water source, and curve the corners of your mouth upward in this month’s fixtape. The Miami Horror boys, based out of Sydney, have really put something special together for us. We can’t stop listening, and we’re not sure if thats because we really like it, or because these tones are quite mesmerizing. Probably both. Most tracks are easy to listen to, yet provide just the right amount of funk in your step while the silky smooth vocals elevate the mind and body. Enjoy with a Cocktail. Do less, love more.”

Imaginary Friends made up of lead singer Sapphire Adizes, and producers Jimmy Q and Benny Renier release their latest record “Love & Groove” a laid back track with and uplifting piano and funky riffs layered with vocals from R&B singer Sedric Perry, whose voice reminds me of that good good Earth Wind & Fire from back in the days. Mixing electronic tones, intoxicating saxophone melodies, and groovy rhythms, you’re bound to feel the love and groove with this one. This is a must listen and a must download!

Bass, Deep House | Funkystepz – Loveshy EP

Posted by on January 14, 2014

If you haven’t already, meet Funkystepz, a UK-based bass//garage//house//whatever-tickles-your-fancy producing collective. I’m still playing catch up from my holiday hiatus but their latest release, Loveshy EP, is not to be overlooked. In fact, it’s a really well-rounded EP, with a deep house feel running consistent throughout however also considerably versatile and experimental featuring some incredible vocals. These guys have provided you with a perfect track for whatever mood you may be in. My personal favorites include “Feel The Vibe” feat. Monique (oh, you’ll feel it alright) and the über-funky-moomba-house meets Jersey club, “Light Up” feat. Sim Devine. The EP is available for free download, as well as most of their other releases via Facebook. Get down on it.

Compilation, Featured, House | Top 50 Dance Tracks Of 2013 (Including 50-41)

Top 50 dance tracks of 2013

Yes we know, you may be “top _____ of 2013” listed out, but bear with us as we present you our top 50 dance tracks of 2013. In the past we have done just big room / progressive, but here we attempt to take on the whole genre, from trap to progressive to deep house. A few ground rules and biases for how these tracks were selected. “Top” means biggest and best. So the most supported and played out tracks, first and foremost, but also our own bias as well to make this list not just a carbon copy of every other one you have read. All of us are based in the US / Canada, so our perception of what is played live is a largely US worldview, though we try and take a step back. The songs have to have been released in 2013. So tracks like “Easy”, “I Could Be The One”, “Alive”, “Clarity” and “Harlem Shake”, while all huge in 2013, won’t qualify for the list because they were released in 2012. Tough luck, but I think the artists will manage. Check out 50-41 after the jump and at the end find links for 40-31, 30-21, 20-11 and the best of the best, 10-1.

House | Powerhouse feat. Duane Harden – What You Need (Bob Sinclar Remix) (Jay Dabhi Edit)

It’s funky Friday, and if this isn’t a show of force by veterans Duane Harden, Powerhouse and Bob Sinclar, and New York City’s own Jay Dahbi to bring that original house sound back to the forefront, you never knew dance music. “What You Need” is off Duane Harden’s much anticipated album #NB4U which was originally supposed to be released in 2013, though was pushed back to January 20th because Bob Sinclar wanted to hop on a remix for his good friend for the good of us all. If you knew me, you’d know how much I value Bob Sinclar and what he’s brought to dance music, mixing different genres with house music before anyone else, so get familiar! This is a must listen!
