It’s rare to find an artist with stand-out skills in singing, songwriting, and production, but Jonathan Ng, better known as the artist, EDEN, has found his niche by delivering a sound that blends elements of indie, pop, and dance to create a stunning product. His EP, End Credits, shows off his various abilities, as he weaves together future bass with infectiously catchy pop croons and an indie coat – and the lead single and title track of the EP is a lesson in EDEN’s music. “End Credits” comes off as a pop anthem early on, but it quickly morphs to incorporate elements of future bass to create an interesting dynamic. “End Credits” is the third of seven singles to be released off the EP, so keep an eye out for more out of EDEN.

Nu Disco | Jerry Folk Releases His Newest Nu-Disco Single “Futura”

Fresh off of his stellar remix of Oh Wonder’s “Lose It,” Jerry Folk is back with his second original, “Futura,” a nu-disco masterpiece that showcases the Norwegian producer’s various influences. It’s rare to find a producer who can float between genres as effortlessly as Jerry Folk, as his signature nu-disco style often blends with other influences like house and indie. Old-school, 70’s-inspired synths wash over the production in “Futura,” while a plucking bass guitar and driving piano melody gives the track a deep groove fitting for a 4 am warehouse rave. You can peep “Futura” above!

As a fan of the 2000s classic film, Wet Hot American Summer, I had to listen to The Interns’ brand new mix, “The Interns Presents: Wet Hot Los Angeles Summer,” when it came scrolling by while I was on my daily SoundCloud scavenge. San Francisco’s Kaptain comes off his “Summer Breeze” single with a new original called “Never Will.” Super Best Records artist Willdabeast brought some impressive horn play to the table, while Kaptain’s guitarist Brizzy shreds yet again. Jamming out to this one on repeat is the way to go, as the laid-back gem is nothing but amazing. It’s Kaptain’s longest, and quite possibly his best song yet, although I’ll leave that for you to decide since he has a handful of really dope records. Within the future funk scene, Kaptain is making noise with each release, and it’s only a matter of time before something special kicks off for the California beatsmith. Stream the track, and grab the free download below.

Electronic | Discover Bliss with Chet Porter’s Remix of “Where Are Ü Now”

Nowadays, “Where Are U Now” remixes are like jelly bean flavors – there are so many of them, there are a couple of bad ones, but nearly everyone has their own opinion of their favorite one. The latest remix of Jack U’s hit with the Biebs comes from Chet Porter, a Toronto native who has delivered stunning future flips of Ryan Hemwsworth, Zedd, and Porter Robinson. Porter’s remix is unique because he didn’t take on the original track, rather he chose to re-work Ember Island’s ethereal cover – to great success. Ember Island’s heavenly croons provide the perfect partner for Porter’s beautiful synth melodies and jaw-dropping production.
