As a fan of the 2000s classic film, Wet Hot American Summer, I had to listen to The Interns’ brand new mix, “The Interns Presents: Wet Hot Los Angeles Summer,” when it came scrolling by while I was on my daily SoundCloud scavenge. The LA-based duo of Toks and Colby have been steadily making a name for themselves with their feel-good brand of house music, as they’re coming off a second consecutive appearance at EDC Las Vegas after establishing themselves as names to watch for in the burgeoning LA dance scene. On their hour-long mix, The Interns glide through a number of their inspirations, showcasing the soul and groove that has come to define their music.
