FYI | To Our Fans
Posted by Mach on February 16, 2012
As many of you have started to notice, a few changes have been made with how things are done on FNT. The days of file-sharing and piracy are numbered I am sad to say. Mediafire, Hulkshare, Zippyshare, and many others are starting to be more pressured to comply with the RIAA. Which means FNT and many other site’s uploads are being taken down before you are even given the chance to listen. FreshNewTracks is not the only site to be affected, all of us are taking this hit hard and things have gotten to the point where there is no other choice, but to take a more legal approach in this business. Don’t let that bring you down though. FNT will still be able to provide tons of free downloads daily, I can promise that.
When it comes to posting tracks you have to purchase, I know exactly what you’re thinking, “Why don’t I just visit iTunes and Beatport instead?” For one thing we provide a personal experience that they cannot match. Second, do you really want to waste all your time filtering through tons of crap releases only to find one track you really like? The choice is yours whether or not you want to continue following us. I can confidently say that all of us will continue to put full effort into FreshNewTracks and keep it running strong. We believe in a bright future in music and plan to see it through til the end.
Dark Days, Bright Nights. The Sun sets on FNT when we say it does.
Hip-Hop | Busta Rhymes – Why Stop Now (Remix) ft. Chris Brown, Missy Elliot, Lil Wayne
Posted by Grubeats on February 16, 2012
Why stop at Chris Brown when you can have Breezy, Weezy, and the resurged Missy Elliot. Busta announced this bangin’ remix via his Twitter and dropped it exclusively with Flex. Fortunately someone got their hands on it before Flex tagged it up, so here’s the dirty tagless version. Your welcome.

Hip-Hop, Reggae | The Holdup – The Drugs [Video]

Hailing from San Jose, FNT’s favorite reggae/rock/hip-hop hybrid group released the visuals for “The Drugs” which can be found on their LP, Still Gold, which dropped last spring. I’ve always been a fan of their sound. Very original, distinguished, & innovative. This video in particular is very relatable and realistic, but the fellas do a fine job creating an impactful visualization of the song.
Hip-Hop, RnB | Bei Maejor, XV
Posted by Grubeats on February 15, 2012
Maejor Maejor brings us a smooth, self produced r&b jam with a feature from the radio hoodlum, Waka Flocka. Another track off his EP, Upscale, this Grammy nominee is cooking up an impressive project thus far. If you’re looking for some ear candy to get freaky in the sheets, look to further.
Bei Maejor – Lights Down Low ft. Waka Flocka Flame (Stream Only)
Speaking of the sheets, XV dropped this freestyle over Miguel’s chart topping slow jam. XV is not necessarily known for slow raps like this, but he nails this beat delivering some sensual rhymes. Thank God Valentines Day only comes once a year, store this one in your library for 2013.

Hip-Hop, Pop | Nicki Minaj – Starships (Prod. by RedOne)
Posted by Grubeats on February 15, 2012
A reassurance that Nicki has not completely lost it after her dismal Grammy performance was necessary. This is just that. Nicki hits the reverse button, and delivers a new RedOne produced pop track off her upcoming album, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded. I’m curious as to whether Nicki drops “Stupid Hoe” and “Roman Holiday” from the album, but I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

Paying homage to one of the all time greats, Res samples Whitney Houston’s all time classic, “I Will Always Love You” with incredible production as always. With minimum equipment and supplies as they recently kicked off their Scotched Up Tour, Cal kicks a free with the help of the Valentine favorite, Sweetheart candies. Be sure to check out their tour dates if you live in the midwest and also be on the lookout for a Timeflies x FNT interview dropping later this week!
RnB | Usher & Diplo – Climax
Posted by Spice on February 14, 2012
Going to preface this by saying that I’m pretty sure I slow danced to this exact song at multiple school dances/bar mitzvahs/etc in the period spanning from 2001 to 2003. You know exactly what I’m talking about: one second it’s all fun and games, with everyone bobbing along in a large circle of Abercrombie graphic tees to “Ride Wit Me” (with the show-offy pros going word for word with Nelly on every verse), but then, in a single moment, everything changes. The tempo slows. The lights probably dim. And after a few plaintive notes, the sensual vocal stylings of Usher descend upon the dance floor. The tension in the room will immediately ratchet up about seven levels because this entire transition is unmistakable: everyone knows that Usher is the international signal for This Is About To Get Serious.
So with all of that in mind, here is a brand new, undeniably throwback-y collabo from Diplo and Usher, hopefully in time for whatever Valentine’s Day…celebrations…you may have planned for later this evening. It’s gloriously cheesy, smooth and catchy, and definitely timely: If not Feb 14th, when? So Happy Valentine’s Day, FNT. Grow some balls and ask your crush to dance if you couldn’t do it the first time around. And bring on the remixes.
EDIT: Read this interview with Diplo while listening to this song.
