Originally discovered by FNT, Academy has made huge strides since their debut back in October of 2013. The duo has been well overdue for new tunes as it’s been almost a year since their freshman EP ‘Moving Methods‘ was released. Full of funky bass, horns and catchy guitar riffs by producer Matt Osenton, not to mention some fresh turntable scratching provided by DJ Smiles, this new single shows Evan and John’s versatility and progression as artists. Hold Me Down is the first single off their sophomore project set to drop later this Spring and if this is any indication, it appears your summer beach playlist will be full of Academy. Be sure to throw the guys a follow on Twitter (@Academy401) and Like their page on Facebook!
Albums, Electro, Electro-House, Electronic, House, Progressive House | Hardwell releases single ‘Eclipse’ from upcoming album, United We Are
Posted by Juicebox on January 13, 2015
After dominating the dance music scene for the past couple years, fans have been eagerly awaiting Hardwell to release a debut album and last month the Dutch pioneer announced the full tracklist for his debut LP, “United We Are.” To begin the monsoon of anticipation, Robbert van de Corput has released the first single titled, “Eclipse,” of which he played for Miami at Ultra Music Festival 2014.
Although deep house is having its time in the spotlight currently, Hardwell sticks to his guns and maintains his signature big room sound that fans have grown to love. The main stage veteran sends shivers down listeners spines from start to finish with classical strings, ear-numbing basslines, and expertly aligned synth harmonies to exhibit his musical mastery. This is the first taste that will have fans fiending more as we inch closer to the album’s release.

Girl Fire | Galantis – Runaway (U & I)
Posted by BIGLIFE on October 1, 2014
With an “EDM” landscape full of similar sound acts, Galantis is a welcome breathe of fresh air. Despite their branded over-night success, they’re anything but, crafting hits well before “EDM” was a thing and you were still in high school dating cheerleaders. Last night, Galantis premiered their “Runaway (U & I) single on #BetaBPM (to much fanfare) set to release October 5th. The offering serves as the first single to their forthcoming album with no release date at the moment. Release date or not, Galantis is the next big thing in the electronic dance music space. The interwebs are ablaze so early in the morning with Kendrick Lamar deciding to release the first single of his upcoming new album. Featuring a sample of the Isley Brothers’ “Who’s that lady”, the song is an uptempo feel good track that Kendrick enlightens us with. Using one of his various vocal tones, Kendrick is always finding new ways to push the boundary and keep us guessing. Keep clicking repeat because it’s only a matter of time before this song is everywhere.
P.S. it dropped two hours ago and already has 400,000 plays…
Progressive House | Sevag – The Heat

I saw Sevag open for Henrix & Wayne & Woods last fall and in talking to Henrix, he could not sing high enough praises for Sevag. Now close to a year later, the two of them have two collabs set for release soon, and Sevag has also become a favorite of Thomas Gold, opening for him at his Fanfare 100 event at Le Bain in NYC, as well earning a slot on Governor’s Island this weekend. His first single on Cr2 Records, “The Heat” brings exactly what it claims to do with in your face, tribal percussion that is both groovy and powerful. Grab the tune below and get ready for much more Sevag.

Trance | Above & Beyond feat. Alex Vargas – Blue Sky Action
Posted by Middy on July 21, 2014
The sky is blue and you should too. Ok that made no sense, but it doesn’t matter. Above & Beyond are thankfully much better at just about everything music related than me, including songwriting, and “Blue Sky Action” is their latest tune that is pitch perfect for the summer months. It is the first single from their upcoming album, out early next year so get your mind and bodies ready for that.
