Progressive House | Ellie Goulding – Hanging On (Tom Swoon Remix)
Posted by Middy on August 2, 2012
Tom Swoon, formerly known as Pixel Cheese, has provided his talents to remix this beautiful Ellie Goulding track. He lends his progressive flavor to the track with a well layered, uplifting melody to accompany Ellie Goulding’s angelic vocals and a tasteful, crafty dubstep interlude to carry us to an even bigger second drop. This remix takes a different approach than the Moiez remix, going for more of an upbeat, big room festival vibe. This is a fantastic track that is available for free, so there is no excuse for you not to grab it immediately.
Bootleg | Calvin Harris feat. Kelis, Ellie Goulding – Bounce/Lights (Brian Kramer Bootleg)
Posted by Juicebox on July 20, 2012
In today’s electronic world it’s hard to find young up and comers who are making music & DJing the right way & for the right reason. With today’s software and accessibility, everyone from Frodo to Paris Hilton have become a DJ. Download a free trial of a variety of softwares and you’ll be good to go…just hit play, then sync. It’s people like Brian Kramer who are doing it right. Give the kid a pair of Sennheiser headphones, a pair of CDJ’s, and he’s good to go for the next three hours. Brian Kramer sent some bootlegs my way last week and I couldn’t have been happier after previewing them. Currently everyone is trying to take fast paced tracks, mash them with top 40 music, and call it a day. Brian Kramer slowed things down and created something a little deeper and more intricate. Maybe it’s cause I’m a huge sucker for house tracks with female vocals, but all I can say is do yourself a favor and download both of these.
Progressive House | Ellie Goulding – Hanging On (Moiez Extended Remix)
Posted by Middy on July 15, 2012
Though Moiez is just 20 and has only been seriously producing for a bit over a year, his sound has a level of maturity that you would find in renowned veterans of the game. Moiez continues his recent string of originals and remixes with the recent Ellie Goulding single “Hanging On” with Tinie Tempah (though he is absent in the remix) and though it is slightly unfair to remix an Ellie Goulding track because her voice makes remixes so easy, he creates melodies that generate a new level of emotion in the track. The track starts slow with a soft piano melody, steady bass line and Ellie Goulding’s angelic vocals and then adds blissful synth chords with a thumping bass line that takes the track to another stratosphere.
Dubstep | R Rated #37

Kicking off this week’s R Rated we have a freebie from UKF of Dream and Archie Cane’s track Who Cares. This one is a big collab from these two that has been rinsed out by the likes of Skream, Benga, Skrillex and many others. Dream is a pretty underrated producer in my eyes, and the only thing holding him back from being more noticed is the amount of releases he has. Either way these two were able to brew up a masterpiece that has a Never Say Die feel mixed with some of Eptic’s style.
Ellie Goulding has one of the best voices in the business and it is no surprise as to why everyone is dying to get on a track with her. Lately we have seen a rising amount of remixes of her tracks, and Mach found the jackpot. This remix by Pittman immediately gave off that Alvin Risk style with some heavy sounds mixed between. The build up and progression through it are amazing in itself not to even mention the exploding drop.
Horx and P3000 are slowly climbing their way to the top with their set of releases lately. Horx definitely shows his experience within this group by bringing some awesome unique styles to every track their name is on. I love the soloed out vocals with the soft sounds in the background that set the stage for the grimey drop.
CRNKN cranked out this nice remix of Adventure Club’s Do I See Color with a little twist of his own. I love the synths and build ups CRNKN used in this remix, and it is also nice to see him making some dubstep again. Nothing too crazy from him on the drop, but tasteful and bass-filled enough for R Rated.

Electronic, Girl Fire, Pop | Ellie Goulding – Hanging On (feat. Tinie Tempah)
Posted by Spice on July 10, 2012
Let me level with you: I’ve got a serious girl crush on Ellie Goulding. I love her music, I love her style, I love the fact that she’s a badass runner and I love what she does with her hair. Still, I’m always freshly taken aback every time she comes out with a new release. Her unique talent has a way of catching me off guard and reasserting itself whenever I listen to one of her songs for the first time. And today was one of those moments: her stunning, emotional collaboration with Tinie Tempah, which just dropped a few hours ago and which will presumably be featured on her upcoming album, is pretty much guaranteed to give you chills and tug at your heart strings. Ellie’s distinctive voice is positively otherworldly on those high notes and I’m loving the way the chilled-out bass gets intense after the drop in the chorus. Check out “Hanging On” below and pick up the free download through Soundcloud’s email unlock program.
Sidenote: not really sure what Tinie Tempah is doing on this — I’m pretty ambivalent about his verse and think it detracts from the ethereal vibe of the song…but whatever. Viva Ellie.

Dubstep | The Weeknd – High For This (Ellie Goulding Cover)[PatrickReza Remix]
Posted by Mach on June 1, 2012
Let’s face the fact that Ellie Goulding’s voice sounds incredible with the right dubstep beat. This great cover dropped only a few days ago, but I am honestly surprised it took that look for a remix like this. PatrickReza has done some incredible remixes of great female vocalist such as Julia Stone, Sia, and one of my favorite female vocalists, Lykke Li. He does a great job creating a beat that matches each one of these different voices, and continued that trend with this remix.

Cover, RnB | Ellie Goulding – High For This (Remix) [Prod. Xaphoon Jones]

I wasn’t too sure of what to expect when I saw that Ellie Goulding covered a Weeknd track, but man was I blown away. The British songstress easily gives the OG a run for its money. What Xaphoon Jones did with this beat is amazing, changing the sound completely. Hopefully there are more Xaphoon/Ellie collabs in the future because this one is fire.
