Ambient | Daughter – Youth (Dotcom Remix)
Posted by Juicebox on July 24, 2013
In a world so over saturated with rushed productions and distasteful “EDM” remixes, finding a remix that brings the original track into a new light while still accentuating the beauty of the original has become an impossible task. Too often do we see the sonorous vocals of Ellie Goulding or Adele trashed with the accompaniment of a preset synth in Nexus followed by a cheesy drop. But every once in a while, you come across something else. You come across a remix that has not only given new life to an already inspiring song, but a remix that has actually bettered the track, all whilst still encompassing it’s original beauty and stems. Someone call up Daughter and sign this as an official remix, I tip my hat to you Dotcom.
Progressive House | The Two Friends ft. Jeff Sontag – Sedated
Posted by Mel on July 16, 2013
The Two Friends’ latest original “Sedated” features the superb vocals of Jeff Sontag and follows the same vein as their previous remix of “World In Our Hands” that I found a liking to. It starts off a little slow before finding its stride in the build and fully taking off in the drop. Even though there is an oddly out of place piano during the drops, this is still a great song that is worth sharing.

Electro-House | Ak9 – Ye (Cormak Remix)
Posted by Mach on July 12, 2013
Holy hell, these are the tracks I like to have on a Friday. Cormak is pushing to break 100 likes on Facebook right now and just drop this banging Electro-House remix. The intro has a calm progressive feel to it, but don’t let that tell you what the rest of the song will sound like. The drop is full of so much energy all you can think to do is rage to the bass. Show Cormak some love for this incredible tune.

Dubstep, Exclusive, Featured, House, Preview | BeatauCue – Aeropolis + Others Remix (Preview) [FNT Exclusive]
Posted by Middy on July 10, 2013
As head of forward thinking label Kitsuné, French duo BeatauCue, are known for their funky, groovy originals and remixes that may not put them on the MainStage, but it has earned them the respect as both outstanding producers and label owners. They have given us the opportunity to exclusively preview their upcoming single “Aeropolis”, set for release August 5th on their label Kistuné, along with one of the remixes on the package from London dubstep artist The Others. The original calls to mind a bit of an Eric Prydz sound with its rolling bass line, a strong groove and punchy and unrelenting synth chords that culminate in a huge danceable drop. The Others derives his builds from the original, but true to his sound adds deep, heavy, sub rattling growls and an ominous lead to flip the script on this track and make it his own bass heavy addition. Look for these on July 29th with additional remixes from Neosignal and Slick Shoota, which you preview in the minimix below.
FYI, Progressive House | Daleri’s Epic Mashleg and the Tragedy of Beatport Top 100
Posted by Middy on July 10, 2013
There is a decent chance by now that you have heard this mashup by Swedish duo Daleri of the some of the latest hits sweeping festival main stages and gracing the top of the Beatport charts. Upon first listen you may think, well wow isn’t this a convenient little minute of noise that takes out all of those pesky and boring builds and is just straight huge, dope banger anthem drops. But when you actually listen, you see just how everything sounds the same.
Electronic | Kill Paris – Falling In Love Again (Feat. Marty Rod & Alma)
Posted by mimada on July 9, 2013
I know it’s probably still light out depending on your time zone, so consider this late night jam your little afternoon delight. Marty Rod and Alma’s vocals are sweet as honey, alluding to an intimate love scene in the back hallway of night club. Then, the duo trigger the drop with their harmonious line, Falling in love again, just like it is in real life. Or so I’m guessing.
Give yourself a chance to fall in love and save up your pennies to catch Kill Paris (and many more!) on the OWSLA stage this September at Tomorrow World.

Progressive House | Wayne & Woods vs Henrix – Jumangee
Posted by Middy on July 8, 2013
So if you are reading this, the elephant from the Jumangee game did not come out and crush you. Good for you, however it means you still have to survive this being played during festival season with possibility of some roided out muscular guy going apeshit next to you and elbowing you into the next century. Problem. The first official release from Wayne & Woods since signing to Size Records, we are starting to see why they were given such a high vote of confidence by label boss Steve Angello. Henrix proves again why his percussive beats are to be reckoned with this festival season. Another track in the long line of “festival drop” tracks, look for this track to both chart well and to be played out often this summer as festival-goers appetitive for these type of tracks seems to be insatiable. Also here is some footage of Henrix from his show at Governor’s Island with Hardwell, Dyro and Audien.
