Albums | BARRON Taps Into Porter Robinson & Odesza’s Lane on “Feel Love”

Posted by on August 21, 2022

BARRON is shaping up to be one of my favorite up-and-comers on the rise. The Nashville, TN based talent is clearly influenced by the likes of Porter Robinson, Odesza and other producers in that space who create emotionally evoking electronica and he is on to something here with this project, specifically this new track “Feel Love”. It’s well worth diving in to, so do yourself a favor and keep a tab on this dude. Check out “Feel Love” by BARRON above now and read a quote from him on the release below!

‘Feel Love’ is a unique track for me in that it’s more upbeat and dance-able than my previous releases. It could definitely be classified as a house track which is a genre I don’t normally write, but I enjoyed the experience of meshing my more euphoric/melodic sound with a style that you would normally hear at a night out at a bar or club. It definitely opened up a world to me that I plan to revisit again in the future.” – BARRON

Alternative | Alt Hip Hop Act WHO SHOT SCOTT Release “LOVE WE’LL NEVER KNOW”

Posted by on November 20, 2021

Armed with an inspiring story that lies within the upbringing and heartbreak of the man behind WHO SHOT SCOTT, the experimental hip-hop artist has certainly been through trials and turbulence. Fleeing Iraq in the arms of his mother when he was 2 years old, they were forced to journey to Moscow due to the dangers in his home country. After time in the Russian capital, they packed their belongings and travelled to New Zealand. Meeting and finding comfort in a friend at the age of 8, their shared love for hip-hop resulted in an internationally performing duo with big visions for the future. In 2019 however, his partner, citing new-found religious belief, abruptly announced he will no longer make music, moved overseas and left his closest friend with no goodbye. After some gruelling months, experimental hip-hop artist WHO SHOT SCOTT was born from the ashes of that personal and professional apocalypse. The hybrid variety of influences and vibes on their new single and video is both impressive and as eclectic as it gets. Tap in above now and read a quote from the artist below!

“Vulnerability has always been at the forefront of my creative philosophy, whether it be my lyrical content or within my music production, I always strive to be brave and express my inner emotions as accurately as possible through my music. At the time of writing this song, I was dealing with the remnants of post-traumatic stress caused by an abusive relationship from my past. I was in a seriously bad place mentally and finally came to the realisation that I wasn’t ever truly in love with this person, but instead, infatuated by the potential of the relationship getting better. I’m very blessed to say that I eventually got out of that situation safely, but the manipulation definitely had some long-lasting effects on me than I would have liked it too. For me – this song is my closure, this is me telling myself that what happened was not my fault and doesn’t define me or my future. I was just seeing a love that wasn’t truly there.”

Future Trap | EGZOD and CROIX’s “Need You Forever” Delivers On Epic Future Bass

Posted by on November 3, 2016

EGZOD and CROIX are a force to be reckoned with, they are also not the only duo involved in this release. Tribal Trap and Fated Records approved of the sound to an extent that they decided to team up on the single. With that said, “Need You Forever” delivers serious power add a satisfying, fluid rate.

“Need You Forever” delivers many classic future bass elements but in a construct, rhythm, and pattern that is just fresh and appealing to the brain.

Just when you think the song delivered everything it could, the second drop hits in just takes it to that epic, euphoric, “you’ve dropped everything and been fully absorbed by the track” feeling – damn that’s nice.

The two elements that EGZOD and CROIX have in common are that they both produce a wide spectrum of sounds, but have a common thread that you can sense between them all, the two together was a nice experiment that played out just right, definitely fusing the best to both artists here.

Nick Pes just dropped his latest single “Sunsets”, and it is beautiful. The Sydney based artist created a gorgeous synth-pop track that takes inspiration from natures daily ritual — the sunset — and the painful breakdown of a relationship. Nick actually describes it perfectly, saying that “The thing about a sunset is that one happens every single day, some more amazing than then next but daily nonetheless – but if you allow yourself to experience it can feel like the most beautiful and important moment in the world. There’s a sadness because it’s an ending but it also marks a beginning. You can’t stop it from happening so you just have to go with it.” This track is definitely worth checking out, and we can’t wait to hear what Nick Pes has to offer next.

Sydney producer POOLCLVB shares the first single, “Always”, off of his forthcoming EP ‘You + Me’. With summery, playful rhythms and samples, POOLCLVB, with the help of Carl Fox (of Porsches), has created something wonderful. From the artist, “Written and recorded in a single day, we bounced lyrics back and forth and it just came together so organically. Sometimes guys don’t express their feelings as much as girls, we wanted this track to do just that. If you find it hard to say I love you, let this track speak for you.” This track is definitely worth checking out, and if it’s any indication of POOLCLVB’s EP, it’s going to be a great one.

Los Angeles artist Jason Gaffner is back this week with the next single off his forthcoming EP with a track called “Murder In The First Degree”. This track is a great follow up to “Feel Something”, which Gaffner released just a few weeks ago. From the artist, “This song is really all about fun. Not to be taken too seriously – It’s like if an outdoor dance party and tongue in cheek crime noir had a delightful baby.” This track is definitely worth checking out, so be sure to take a peep and show Jason Gaffner some love!
