Progressive House | Thomas Gold – MIAO

Posted by on December 26, 2012

Thomas Gold finishes off a year that has seen his his rise among the ranks at Axtone, mixing its 2012 compilation, his highly successful essential mix debut, a flurry of remixes and singles, and now his debut on Calvin Harris’ imprint, Fly Eye Records, “MIAO”. Thomas Gold gets right into the club ready drop of pulsing pitched chords and quick alternating snare and evolves the track with a slow melodic interlude that beckons in that same pulsing drop from before. He is about to embark on his winter North American tour, so be sure to check him out at a city near you.

Coming off a humorous summer single, “Rosana”, Big Wax recently returned to the screen with another comedic single revolving around his Mrs. Butterworth’s ball and chain.  The DMV native raps about the overwhelming discovery of his girl’s toothbrush in his bathroom, flossing out his competition in the process.   It’s obvious Wax feels the relationship is moving faster than he anticipated, which provides a plot for his newest sing along.  Wax’s third-coming project, Coming… is due to drop January 15.

Electronic | Brian Kramer – All Will be Lost (Mix)

Posted by on November 26, 2012

After a brief hiatus in the studio to work on his original material, Brian Kramer is back at it again with a brand new mix to debut his up and coming mixtape entitled, “All Will be Lost.” What we love so much about Brian Kramer is that he doesn’t need to throw in the mainstream house bangers in his mixes to create a great mix. The guy has been DJing for over 6 years and it shows. Appreciate how well this entire project was mixed and recognize real talent when you hear it. The mix features six brand new bootlegs that he plans on releasing in the upcoming month so keep your eyes peeled for that. As a little bonus, we’ve included one of his previous bootlegs below that is 100% worth downloading.

Chill, Electro, Electronic, Mainstream Remix | Duncan Sheik – Shout (Tears for Fears Cover – Chi Duly Remix) ft. Rachael Yamagata

Posted by on November 14, 2012

The remix master, Chi Duly, drops his latest killer masterpiece on us. After Duncan Sheik released the debut track off his album, his manager reached out to the remix god Chi Duly to put his own spin on it. Shout became the first single and it’s currently making radio rounds on the adult contemporary circuit. I don’t quite know how involved I am in the “Adult Contemporary Circuit” but what I can tell you is that this track is extremely pleasing to the ear and is something you’ll want to have in your iTunes. Give it a listen below and buy it on iTunes here.

Young emcee Brandon Realmonte out of Chico, California just released his debut song “Shades of Grey”, and for a first release I’m impressed. Brandon delivers his smooth, equality enriched lyrics over an instrumental known as “The Light” by The Album Leaf. He shows originality and promise in his music unlike so many rappers in this saturated genre today. Looking forward to seeing what he has in store with his next release. Follow him on his recently started social media outlets below.

Pop, RnB, Videos | Jon Bellion – Paper Planes

One thing I enjoy about blogging is venturing into genre’s I wouldn’t typically dabble with. Since I was first introduced to Jon Bellion, I have tried and tried to pinpoint an artist to compare him to. I’m yet to find one. He is too unique.

Long Island native, Jon Bellion prepares for his debut project under his newly inked deal with Visionary Music Group.   After sparking a legitimate amount of buzz with his cover of Drake’s “The Motto“, Bellion returns to the music he was previously accustomed to creating; original compositions.  Written and produced by the 21 year old himself, Jon exercises all of his musical talents, while his distinguished voice is really what shines brightest. Camera work credited to VMG’s own, GRVTY, who follows Jon through the winding wilderness in a slow motion shoot. Stay tuned as Translations Through Speakers  will be dropping free later this fall.
