Yes, that is in fact a date, September 23, 2011. I found it on SHM’s facebook page, there was also a link to this website 230911. Obviously something awesome is going to happen on this date, what exactly you ask? No idea, but seeing as the wait is only 4 days from now, we will find out soon enough. My guess is they will be announcing their second album. The “11” is written as “II,” which I hope most of you recognize as the roman numeral for “2.”
Another great Facebook find comes from a new member to the FNT family, Spice. She is too busy at the moment to post it herself, but here we are always on the look out for new tunes. Although Axwell is awesome, out of the three from SHM, my favorite would have to be Steve Angello. He can turn any instrumental track into pure gold.

Middy posted the Swedish House Mafia Essentials mix just a few days ago, but Knife Party just uploaded this to their youtube page. For those of you that don’t know, Knife Party is the side project of the duo from Pendulum, Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen. It is a little funny how much more popular Knife Party is becoming over Pendulum. There is no set release date of this epic collaboration, but it always a good thing once artists post up studio quality somewhere.

Yet again with Swedish House Mafia’s name present, is an upcoming remix from Gemini, cut straight from his Kmag Mix. It feels right to compare Gemini to the greats, such as Bassnectar and Skrillex, all Gemini needs is a larger fan bass. This track is also not announced yet for release, the track at the end of the preview is “Cloudburn” by Feed Me. Check out Gemini on Facebook. His new EP, “Graduation,” drops tomorrow.

Shortly after Jermaine released what was arguably the most highly anticipated single, “Mr. Nice Watch”, off his debut album, Cole World: The Sideline Story, featuring his mentor, boss, and father figure, Jay-Z, we received a second dosage of Cole World. MTV premiered the visuals for Cole’s first official single (other than Lights Please & In The Morning), “Can’t Get Enough”, which features Trey Songz, as the crew takes a trip to the sunny island of Barbados. Personally, I think this is in Cole’s top 3 to date, and the camaraderie between J and Trey is phenomenal for their first collab. Keep an eye out around the 3:15 mark and let me know if you catch a glimpse of a little bird that Cole was rumored to have a sex tape with. Hint, her name starts with a R and ends with ihanna. Cole recently addressed these flakey rumors…
“I just let ’em talk. They also say I’ve got a sex tape [with Rihanna] and they say I got dropped from Roc Nation,” joked Cole. “It’s been a hell of a two weeks. They put a picture of one of my fans on the Internet and said it was my girlfriend…I figured out, now that I’m on the other side [of the rumor mill], it’s just so random. It doesn’t start from no where, it’s just like tabloids back in the day. People get paid, they making their money off of making up kind of outlandish stories. ‘Jay-Z said he gon’ beat J. Now I know some or even most of you are going to skip over this post because trance is not upbeat enough or too repetitive or because you can’t party to trance. I understand, I can’t force you to like music, but I can give you a taste of it and make you better informed. I plan on making this a weekly posting to keep you guys up to date on the best of trance. Trance is uplifting, emotional music that can be played in many settings. It can be played as dance music such as if you have ever seen a trance artist live like Above and Beyond, (the best show I have ever seen) then you know how much energy it can have. So lets get to the music. Here is the music video for Mansion by Gareth Emery and Ashley Wallbridge and the song is pure Trance gold.

Some people have said that trance is becoming too mainstream or moving too much towards house, but this CD stays with with the roots of Trance combining influences of the new era trance to create an amazing CD start to finish. Our recently affiliated artist Tarik (yes, I know I still need to make his page) has started to catch on this past month. Based off of the raving reviews from last week’s debut video for his remix to “Weatherman”, I strongly believe Tarik will be rising to the top in short time. Yes, that’s your cue to hop on the before it takes off bandwagon. As I mentioned in the previous post, his songs include more than your average club-popping, whip bumping – based lyrics. “Alone Tonight” is actually one of my favorite tracks from Tarik because he offers a little insight into his life through his lyrics. Carefully tune into this one and you’ll see what I mean…
