FYI | Your Favorite DJs Before They Made It Big
Posted by Middy on August 1, 2013
You have seen posts before by other blogs with pictures of DJs when they were little kids or even teenagers. That is cute and all, but here we want to show you when they were looking like goons, in that phase of their professional life they would probably rather forget, when they were young and reckless and not always ready for the camera. Some of them do look like they were born for the camera (see Fatboy Slim, Pete Tong & Carl Cox), but others: oh boy, let’s have some fun on this special Throwback Thursday. Before you move on, please bask in how goonish Tiesto, Armin and Ferry look in that picture. Armin had his law degree at that point. Imagine being represented in court by him; unreal.
Cover, Videos | Connor Zwetsch – Home (Phillip Phillips Cover)
Posted by J_Salzer on July 30, 2013
The ever magnificent, phenomenal singing, beautiful, talented, Connor Zwetsch has given us her latest cover. Now that I’ve gotten my adjectives for today’s post out of the way, I can get down to the nitty gritty. You all know Connor has got the pipes, but what some of you might not know, is her songwriting ability. In addition to being able to blow the cover off of covers, her originals are majestic also. There are plenty of people that can sing other people’s songs well, and Connor can do that, but the real talent comes from being able to create their own magic, and Connor Zwetsch can do that. I guess what I’m getting at is: enjoy these covers, but keep in mind that the originals are coming too, and they will be incredible. Believe me.
Hip-Hop, Mixtapes | PropaneLv – Letter To The Industry (Mixtape)
Posted by Jess on July 22, 2013
3 million views after randomly deciding to do a remix to Justin Bieber’s “Boyfriend”, Portland’s own PropaneLv drops off a formal mixtape of some of the best remix efforts in hiphop in the last year. Taking the traditional mixtape route, Lv comes together with HipHopEarly’s official DJ, DJ Reddy Rell, to drop the project. With the YouTube remix/cover/rendition lane a popular one in today’s industry, it’s done exactly what it needed to for Lv: solidify his talent and draw attention to his potential. On that note, he is very adamant that his debut album will be an eye opener this fall.
Varsity Blues drops September 30th.

Cover, Videos | Of Monsters and Men – Little Talks (Connor Zwetsch Cover)
Posted by J_Salzer on July 16, 2013
FNT favorite and veteran postee Connor Zwetsch gives us her latest cover. She’s turning this into a routine on Sunday’s and I don’t think I could love it more. Most of the covers posted on music blogs are popular, mainstream songs, but Connor chooses more low key songs, that show off her vocal ability. This week’s cover is a Monsters and Men hit, and Connor does it justice, and although I’ve never loved the original song, Connor’s version entrances me. Check out the video above and be on the lookout for more Connor coming on Sunday’s.
Chill, Cover | Elli Ingram – Poetic Justice (Cover)
Posted by admin on July 9, 2013
My affinity for female, British pop singers is just too much for me to handle sometimes. My newest crush goes by the name of Elli Ingram. Hailing from Brighton, England Elli has honed her talents from a very young age. Inspired by the likes of Amy Winehouse and Lauryn Hill, it’s easy to see where this vocalist gets her soulful, R&B flare.
The 19 year old soon-to-be star has just released her EP entitled Sober. The alcohol and drug-infused subject matter of the EP is one that you might not expect from a teenager, however, it becomes quite clear that Elli is not your average teen with a dream of stardom.
The standout from the EP, and song that originally peaked my interest, was her rendition of Kendrick Lamar and Drake’s “Poetic Justice”. The cover manages to pump endless emotion in to an already emotion-filled song, and gives the average music listener some great new material to belt out in the shower.
Ingram is young and has already proved herself to many major players in the industry, if she keeps progressing it will be no time at all before she is a household name.
Enjoy the cover and hop over to Elli’s website to grab the full EP.
Cover, Pop, RnB | Spenz — Do Me Now [Music Video]

I am proud to premiere the raunchy, NSFW visuals for Jamaican R&B artist Spenz’s “Do Me Now”, a reinterpretation of the popular Hit-Boy-produced song by K.Roosevelt that we premiered back in May. As I mentioned before, it’s rare to find an artist who really understands how to improve upon an original, which is exactly what Spenz does, with his smoother, more soulful delivery and strong ear for melody. Look out for more from this talented singer as he readies his debut release due out this November.
Chill, Cover, Videos | Connor Zwetsch – No Rain (Blind Melon cover)
Posted by J_Salzer on July 4, 2013
FNT’s own Connor Zwetsch offers up her newest cover to mellow us all out on this hyped up, crazy, alcohol filled day. Her latest, a cover of Blind Melon’s “No Rain,” is upbeat and catchy, and Connor’s voice puts an interesting and fun twist on the song, and really shows off her tremendously powerful and gorgeous vocal chords. Fun fact for everybody, this is the song Connor sang on The Voice, and NONE of the judges turned around. I would’ve turned around. Happy 4th to all, be safe.
