House | Amtrac – Those Days (Original & Remixes)

Posted by on November 6, 2012

Woo, Amtrac bringing in the dance floor fire with this funky House tune. The remixes aren’t even half bad either, but I have to give Amtrac all the credit on this incredible original. I’m not familiar with him in the Disco-House scene, I love it though. This track makes me want to run out to the club right now and bust out.

Drum & Bass, Dubstep | ShockOne – Chaos Theory

Posted by on October 21, 2012

ShockOne has unleashed one of the biggest Dnb tunes of the year. Chaos Theory has probably been the highlight of so many sets ever since its first appearances about a year ago. I remember first hearing this tune in Knife Party’s set at ‘I Love Techno’ and thinking it was an unreleased Pendulum track because of its similar style. Nevertheless this track is an outrageous club anthem that just goes off, and I can say that after experiencing it live many times. The EP also consists of one clean radio edit, one dirty radio edit,a drumstep remix, and a dubstep mix as well. Grab the EP off of Beatport HERE.

Electro-House, Techno | Boys Noize – XTC (Original Mix & MMM Remix)

Posted by on August 7, 2012

German legend Boys Noize has finally dropped his highly anticipated track “XTC,” which is hard-hitting, minimal electro at its best. Those repetitious and wonderfully robotic synths were tailor made to get you in the zone during the wee hours at a dark basement dance club (and let’s not forget about the vocals…). Included with this release is an even more minimalist techno remix from MMM, which augments the almost sinister, spacey vibe of the original. This is classic, underground-ready stuff that hints at Boys Noize’s acid house roots.

Albums, Progressive House, Review | Eric Prydz Presents Pryda

Posted by on May 24, 2012

Finally, after a much anticpated wait, Eric Prydz has released his first artist album, a three disc anthology called Eric Prydz Presents Pryda and it is INCREDIBLE, a solid 5/5. The first disc is a collection of unreleased tracks & the second and third discs are retrospective mixes which mix together past hits and b-sides. While the first CD emphasizes his progressive roots, it shows the marked change from the beginning of Prydz’s career. His massive 2004 hit “Call On Me” (which had an awesome music video, check that below) initially projected him into the club scene.
Call On Me
Starting in the same scene as Sebastian Ingrosso, Steve Angello and Axwell (collectively known as Swedish House Mafia currently), he soon made his own path under the monikers Cirez D for his hard-hitting techno tracks and Pryda for his Progressive club bombs. Over his ten year career, Pryda has nailed down his impeccable producing style, and it is seen in every track he makes. Grab this release on ITUNES, BEATPORT, or SPOTIFY. Now to the actual music, let’s do a track by track review after the jump.

Hip-Hop | Ryan Leslie- Rain In Australia (Video)

Posted by on May 9, 2012

“It’s warm when it’s cold, cold when it’s hot. You can feel it when it’s real and you know when it’s not.”

What in the world is going on. Listen, Ryan Leslie is a musical genius. I love everything he puts out. This though… this is just plain bad. This is almost as bad as something an average white rapper would send me in an e-mail blast. And the hook. What is going on with that sub-part auto-tuned mickey mouse making in rain in the club all night hook. It’s horrendous. It’s a dark day for Ryan Leslie fans, but the night is darkest just before the dawn. I’m just not sure the dawn is coming for Ryan Leslie “Les is More” album. Yikes…

Hip-Hop | Timeflies Tuesday- All Night Long (Video)

Posted by on April 10, 2012

Just in the knick of time, Timeflies drops another installment of their “Timeflies Tuesday” series which seem to have been dropping every Tuesday for the past two years. It’s that dedication that’s catapulted them to the top. Coming full circle, they’ve sped up the beats per minute and made one of their first original tracks entitled, “All Night” into a club heater that will have impressionable young women grinding on the dance floor in neon apparel. Bring your sleeping bag because Timeflies are going to keep you up all night long.

It’s true. Shout out to Jared Glick for being the realest.
