In celebration of its 100th release, Ferry Corsten’s Flashover Recordings has tagged hot and in-demand producers to remix his 2003 classic “Rock Your Body Rock” – fittingly on the track’s 10 year anniversary. Arty brings back his “Rock N Rolla” styled remix, with the kind of vibes he put to use on his remix of Ferry Corsten’s “Punk” to great effect (and which was a launching point for his career). This remix features the similar hard snares and kicks as “Punk,” adding Arty’s own flavor to the track and carrying the timeless sound of the original to now. The “MainStage” mix from Belgian duo Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike has been the version that Ferry himself has played most lately, giving the track a modern day festival energy thanks to a tantalizing build and a hard-driving minimal drop that totally flips the script on the original. They both take very different approaches and have their own unique strengths, so take a listen and decide for yourself.

When it comes to Nick Luebke there is no doubt this past year has been big for him. From having his remix of “Call Me Maybe” go viral blasting him off into the blogosphere, to being featured on X-Factor as well as performing shows with the likes of Mike Stud and more. Now that the young Madison, WI native has finally completed college he’s reached that point in the road where he must choose whether or not to pursue his dream in music, or head into the everyday career world. This challenge he’s faced with laid the foundation for this first single, “End Of The Road” off his upcoming EP.

Albums, Progressive House, Review | Dirty South – Speed Of Life (Album Review)

Speed-Of-Life1

Serbian born, Australian native Dragan Roganovic, better known to the world for the past decade as Dirty South has finally released his debut artist album “Speed Of Life” after countless singles, EPs, collaborations and remixes. The album is where his sound is at this present moment, but it is also a culmination of everything he has done to this point and how he has evolved and grown as an artist. There is no doubt that if he had written this 2 or 5 years ago, the album would have sounded totally different, and we are grateful that he took the time to wait and mature to venture into the difficult, arduous, yet rewarding process of creating an album. The 45 minutes containing “Speed Of Life” have no wasted second, every bit has a purpose and there is no song that seems to be a filler. This carefully crafted album may leave you wishing there was more at the end, but isn’t that a good thing, or at least a whole lot better then you wishing there was less.

With what is one of the best tracks I’ve heard from Sean Dee comes “Bows and Arrows” featuring an incredible hook and production from Anna Yvette. I am absolutely in love with the chorus and Sean Dee rounds out the track nicely with his verses. He definitely has a promising career in front of him.

It’s always exciting to see an artist that we’ve supported since day 1 to make it. Everyone’s definition of making it always varies, mine usually falls under crafting the official remix for the #1 DJ in the world, which Clinton VanSciver just did. The kid still has a ways to go, but making an official remix for Armin van Buuren this early in his career is unbelievable and definitely raises a big red flag that says, “start listening to this kid’s music” in all caps.  Check out the track below, buy it, and support these young guns of our generation.

Progressive House | Those Usual Suspects & Nordean feat. Erik Hecht – Burn Forever EP

Posted by on December 17, 2012

Coming off of his collosal collab, “Rift” with label head Dirty South, Michael Brun returns once more to Phazing Records on remix duties to finish out the year on Aussie trio Those Usual Suspects’ new track with Nordean and vocals from Erik Hecht, “Burn Forever”. The original is a solid progressive track, but Michael Brun steps it up to another level, adding his own melody to the drop and subtle piano chords, bringing out those peaktime hands in the air moments. The superb vocals from Erik Hecht bring the track together as Michael Brun continues to impress in his young and very promising career.
