Alternative | RUBBER connect with NIC HANSON’ via “REASON THAT YOU CAME HERE”

Posted by on June 3, 2021

Philadelphia’s Rubber have been causing quite the stir in the industry lately, and their latest offering ‘Reason
That You Came Here’ is a track that is too good to ignore. Taking a trip into psychedelica, the funky duo adopt warped synths and electro-pop rhythms that play as a sultry backdrop for the alluring narrative. Sewing sound samples into the lyricism, they use peppered percussion to build up to a killer chorus that is shimmering with gorgeous falsetto harmonies, with a charming attitude akin to that of Anderson.Paak. Complimenting each other in their varying musical tastes, singer Andrew Loper and multi-instrumentalist/producer John Della Franco have struck gold with the track, which features a groove-laden verse from fellow Philadelphian Nic Hanson . “Reason That You Came Here is all about confidence and not giving a flying fuck” Rubber explains,

It’s about anticipating that feeling of being in a room and having all the eyes on you, being the center of attention, and owning it. Being cooped up this past year has been an intense and tiring experience. For us and many other artists, the return of shows has been the one light at the end of this tunnel that we are desperate to catch a glimpse of. We just booked our first hometown show for June 10th at Sunflower Philly so that light is well within reach now. This song is the perfect capstone to this era of our career, live music is popping up again after this long pandemic winter, andwe will once again be the reason that you came here, to the show, for a night of connective, energetic, eclectic music”.

We’ve been keeping track of Callie Reiff and her burgeoning music career pretty intently these last few months after she dazzled with an impressive b2b with Mija in Brooklyn and followed that up with a Mad Decent release. Now, the 16-year-old star is ready to become a disruptive force in bass music with her Skrillex co-signed track with Ronaissance, “Tin Machine.” Fusing together trap with elements of future bass for a style that can only be defined as “metallic trap,” Callie Reiff and Ronaissance have delivered a bass anthem that will surely melt some brains during this festival season.

Chill, House | Mosimann’s ‘The Gifted One” Takes Lyric Videos To The Next Level

Posted by on June 17, 2016

Mosimann caught me off guard when I stumbled upon his lyric video for “The Gifted One”. He comes from France and has built his career within the city and in surrounding areas. One element I found particularly exciting was the sheer amount Mosimann has accomplished in a short amount of time. He has been a judge on The Voice Belgium, completely won the French show Star Academy, and has soared into the DJMag Top 100 in 2016. That’s alot.

It’s clear Mosimann’s promotion is as diverse as his background. His SoundCloud focuses on both the banger and chill side of electronic music.

His latest work is most definitely far from heavy. “The Gifted One”, is an innovative twist on the chill house you are hearing. It’s less deep house / tech house influenced, which is sort of the norm in America at the moment, and focuses on a poppier vibe, most so when the drop comes.

Mosimann’s “The Gifted One” is well-produced and easy to enjoy multiple times over, click the YouTube link above to learn more about this artist.

The team here at FNT has long been impressed with everything that EDX has accomplished in his career. This year marks the 21st year of the dance veteran’s lengthy career, and he’s starting the year off strong with an anthemic, four-on-the-floor track that showcases his matured, groove-driven take on house music. “Missing” featuring Mingue is a modern-day re-make of Everything but the Girl’s track of the same name, but EDX has given it his signature deep house flair, infusing the track with a warm, bubbly bass line and heady synth stabs.
