It’s impossible to truly capture how impressive EDX’s career has been. Few artists in any genre have been able to stay relevant through so many dramatic changes like the Italian-born producer has been able to, which is an ode to his hard work and tireless effort. While last year was an evolutionary year for the Swiss beatmaster, this year has been one of EDX’s best. Releases like his “Indian Summer” remix of “Show Me Love” and his “Miami Sunset” remix of Spada’s “Catchfire (Sun Sun Sun)” were both chart-dominating releases, topping the Hype Machine and Beatport charts, on their way to over 30 million plays together. Now, EDX is closing out his year strong with his newest original, “Belong,” a masterful blend of deep and progressive, that marks his return to Spinnin’ Deep.

Swedish artist Sapele may be the new to some, but don’t call him a noob, having written and produced for many artists, he’s now decided to launch his solo career with the release of his EP “The Day,” and judging from his debut single “Looking At You,” expect nothing less but deep bass driven afro-soul influenced productions layered with downtempo RnB  vocals, when the lights go down on the dancefloor. Get your sexy on and press play, you might find yourself more flirtatious than usual, go get’em! This is a must listen!

Hip-Hop, Rap | ClarkAirlines – GoodTimingYeah

Posted by on July 31, 2015

Starting his rap career at the ripe age of 15, the now-23 year old ClarkAirlines has had plenty of time to come in to his own. And it shows. The unique sound crafted by the Chicago native is something fresh and enjoyable to listen to in today’s soundscape.

The expressive vocal tone paired with a witty, yet hard hitting writing ability make “GoodTimingYeah” a standout, and also showcase a snippet of what to expect from ClarkAirlines’ forthcoming project Trill Air.

DO SOMETHING

Exclusive, Pop | Premiere: Melleefresh – Apparition (Original Pop Mix)

Posted by on September 18, 2014

Melleefresh - Apparition (Original Pop Mix)
For dance music fans, the name Mellefresh is familiar. She has most notably collabed with Deadmau5 to create Freshmau5 back in the early days of his career on tunes like “Hey Baby” and “Sex Slave”. More recently, the singer, songwriter, producer and DJ has been branching out beyond deadmau5’s twisted mind into drum n bass and tech house / minimal with Alixanderlll, part of the revered Azari & III duo. She is also an accomplished artist in her own right and is taking it out to the world with this self-produced and self-written tune “Apparition”. Melleefresh brings together the modern and the pop sensibilities of the 80s as the robotic voice clashes with the themes of love in the tune. We have the premiere for you until it is released on October 6th via Play Records, so stream away now!

Progressive House | Hellberg – Saviors

Hellberg_saviorsMonstercat has always excelled at catching the little guy before they blow. Just a few like Project 46, Vicetone & Pegboard Nerds come to mind of the top of my head. Swedish producer Hellberg has slowly built his career over the past few years with some very solid remixes and originals, some of those on Monstercat and it seems like it is all finally coming together now. “Saviors” is his latest big, melodic original effort that you should cop right away since it is a free download.

Progressive House | Pierce Fulton – Runaway (Ansolo Remix)

Pierce Fulton - Runaway (Ansolo Remix)
This one makes me smile a little bit as someone who has been doing this long enough to see guys develop from nobodies into viable artists. Ansolo hits me up with this and his upcoming release on Size Records (not shabby at all) with the preface that I gave him some advice long ago and critiqued a few of his songs that he knows now were not that great. I am in no way saying I made his career and any blogger who says they made someone’s career has a serious god complex that needs to be checked, but it is great to hear an artist be thankful for something that isn’t just a generic post and can actually take some criticism, which is harder and harder to find nowadays from acts and their team.

Back to the tune, this one blew up and quickly, rising him to the top of the somewhat gimmicky Billboard trend charts, a feat since he was up against your typical obsessive teenybopper fan bases. Ansolo adds a little more bounce and groove to the tune, while still keeping much of the original feel of the tune. As I mentioned before, Ansolo has a tune out with his mentor Tom Staar on Size Records on Monday. Preview that huge tune below.
