Electro, Hip-Hop, Videos | Timeflies Tuesday: Empire State of Time
Posted by LoffyG on May 2, 2012
As always we have your weekly dose of Timeflies Tuesday. This week Rez sampled Alicia Keys’ “Empire State Of Mind” in honor of their home city, New York. They’re in town for a couple days getting ready for their show at Iriving Plaza. The duo killed it again as usual!
Electro, Hip-Hop, Videos | Timeflies Tuesday: Call Me Maybe
Posted by LoffyG on April 25, 2012
This week’s Timeflies Tuesday installment features a remix of Carly Rae Jepsen’s hit song, Call Me Maybe. Rez works his magic putting an electro spin on the beat while Cal rips the freestyle. Man, do I feel bad for the person whose number is in the video description haha.
Alternative, Videos | Timeflies Tuesday: Lights Collide

My apologies for the delay on this week’s Timeflies Tuesday. The whole “Massachusetts state holiday” thing on Marathon Monday hrew me off and I still haven’t settled into my weekly routine. Running into some technical difficulties on the tour bus, Res and Cal bring us an alternative Timeflies Tuesday, as their original “banger” was lost when the bus’ power suddenly shut off. Covering Howie Day’s 2004 radio friendly slow jam, “Collide”, Cal adds a bit of autotune to his voice, which I think personally detracts from the purity for a nice mellow track. Beggars can’t be choosers and lesson #89 in life, “Timeflies never fail.” Enjoy this baby making jam and get the moon shoes ready for next week’s bangerang-er.
Hip-Hop, Videos | Timeflies Tuesday: Jetplane

Very few people enjoy flying. Too many restrictions, too expensive, not enough leg room, bag of pretzels is too small, blah blah blah the list goes on. Utilizing their social Klout, Timeflies drop a video for their fans that will hopefully make it’s way to United Air’s PR desk. Sampling the famous hit, “Leaving On A Jetplane”, originally composed and made famous by John Denver, Cal raps/sings about their terrible experience at the airport(s) and then proceeds to freestyle about freestyling…really.
Timeflies tour dates can be found here, catch them if they haven’t K.O.’d you city yet.
Pop, Videos | Timeflies Tuesday: Wild Ones
Posted by LoffyG on March 27, 2012
Timeflies hits us with another one of their signature Timeflies Tuesday installments. This time Cal covers Flo Rida’s hit song “Wild Ones” featuring Sia. Rez completely transformed this one from a heavy “club banger” to a smooth “baby maker”. We recently covered a Timeflies show at Palladium in Dallas, TX. If you haven’t seen that article you can check it out here!
P.S. If FNT has another shot at interviewing Timeflies, what would the fans like to see & what questions do you have for them? You can catch the previous one after the jump!

Review | TimeFlies Take Dallas By Storm At The Palladium Ballroom [Exclusive]
Posted by A on March 27, 2012
“Who are you here for?” a Palladium parking attendant asks as I roll my window down slowly.
“Timeflies and Sammy Adams…”
“You’re going to have the park in the lot behind you. This is reserved for the artists.” We pay our obligatory ten dollars to park, and walk to the side of the Palladium where Jared Glick, Timeflies’s manager, asks us to meet him before sound check.
It’s 6:45, and there’s already a line of overzealous fans forming at the door in the hopes to see Timeflies up close and personal.
Five minutes later, Cal Shapiro one-half of Timeflies, appears wearing a black cardigan hoodie and Ray-Ban sunglasses, greeting us as he walks up to the door.

With March Madness right around the corner, Cal and Res suit up in their street ball attire and head down to the local courts for a healthy licking from a couple 12 year olds. They may not be the best basketball players, but Res found the perfect sample and aced the production while Cal provides some “lyricology” for his “bracketology”. Timeflies has also set up their personal bracket online so be sure to fill one out for your chance at prizes…on the daily!
