Electro, Electronic | The Knocks (ft. St Lucia) – Modern Hearts [Dave Edwards Remix]
Posted by admin on June 12, 2013
Although this song unfortunately missed the deadline for our epic summer playlist, it is absolutely deserving of some recognition! Known for his epic remixes, Dave Edwards takes to The Knocks and St. Lucia’s most recent single in a successful attempt to keep up his reputation.
Dave experimented with numerous different chord progressions and sounds in this track and managed to avoid any sort of monotony in the production. Add vocals in to the mix and you’ve really got yourself a hit. The remix has already gotten some pretty significant recognition and so if you enjoy it enough, be sure to heart it up on Hype Machine!
Grab the free download and stay in tune for more Dave Edwards music, hopefully, very soon!
Progressive House | Axwell & Sebastian Ingrosso – Roar
Posted by Middy on June 5, 2013
The much anticipated sequel to Pixar’s huge hit movie “Monster’s Inc”, “Monster’s University” has decided to throw its hat into the edm ring. With BT scoring Toy Story, this is not new for Pixar, but this is new for the Swedish stars as they attempt to bridge their sound with the movie. Axwell & Sebastian Ingrosso have left behind their Swedish House Mafia past with Steve Angello quite quickly and formed a strong bond in the months since then, starting a residency at Ushuaia in Ibiza called “Departures” and creating this track.
“Roar” is different from what we have heard in the past from these two, with a grittier bass line and a cinematic appeal, taking bits and pieces from what I presume is the movie score and incorporating them seamlessly into their track. This is a rather unlikely marriage of partners, but from the sounds of it, I am enthused they did it. The Style of Eye remix goes for a grungier approach, while the the Yogi remix adds a trapped out flavor to it. The original reigns supreme in my book. The movie, set to release June 21st, should be interesting to see not only if it lives up to quality of the first, but also how this tracks fits into the storyline.
Indie, Progressive House | Say Lou Lou – Julian (The Chainsmokers Remix)

So you know how when you were 15 and instead of playing football outside with the rest of the guys in gym class you went and chilled with an okay looking girl that obviously likes you at the lake behind the school. You and the biotch were lying in the grass looking at clouds and generally being kind of gay (not that there’s anything wrong with that) when you looked down and it dawned on you that the shorts you had been wearing casually for the past two months perfectly shows the outline of your penis. Nervously, you get up and attempt to leave. The girl was like “wtf u doin” and ran over to you whilst you were walking away.
She then kissed you for like half a second and you became erect and your friends saw and they still tease you about it today.
That happened to me.
Looking back on that day gives me the same response as the one I got from listening to this song.
“Not bad”.

Progressive House | Quintino & Alvaro – World In Our Hands (The Two Friends Remix)
Posted by Mel on April 29, 2013
When they’re not busy using absurdly low resolution cover art, The Two Friends shoot for the stars in all aspects of life. Their hopes and dreams include singing the national anthem at their local schools football game, finally pulling the trigger and subscribing to Maxim, and to open up and successfully run a fish taco truck in Stratford Ontario, JB’s hometown in an attempt to get him to visit and do stuff with them. Once the ice is broken and he hugs them, at the same time (3 person hug), they will spend the rest of the day staring at each others hair because JB is just such a good looking dude and then all three of them spend the night together in the fish taco truck cuddling and using JB’s made-for-women Chanel jacket for warmth.
Anyway, they just released their remix to Quintino & Alvaro’s “World In Our Hands” for free download and it is definitely worth checking out.

Electro-House | Afrojack – Air Guitar
Posted by Middy on March 12, 2013
After his rather poor attempt at remixing “Gangnam Style”, Afrojack makes up for it with a single “Air Guitar”, designated to be an anthem for this years Ultra Music Festival. Afrojack delivers on this intense track with powerful bursts of electro growls, distorted vocal samples and blistering bleeps with a small interlude to let you catch your breath before getting right back into it. On the heals of Tiesto, Quintino and Alvaro’s somewhat lackluster effort last week and Avicii’s contribution “UMF”, known to many as “ID2” or “Fire” or “Put Your Piano On”, coming next week, Ultra is pulling out all the stops, not only in terms of bookings, production, but also new songs for the two weekend, 15th edition of the world famous festival. With Afrojack’s debut album coming later this year, expect much more to come in 2013 from the towering Dutchman.
Glitch | Flo-Rida- Let It Roll (Video)

“Flo-Rida is the Nickleback of hip-hop” -Spice
Is there a more hated individual in the hip-hop world than Flo-Rida? I mean talk about sell outs of all sell outs. Sure, he’s making Maybach money, but I doubt he’s even being invited to the BET awards anymore. Even if he was, I’m not sure he would even show up. I’m sure he has weed carriers homies from his previous hood that still run in his circle. Do you think they’re really feeling these dance songs? I’m sure they just go along with it because they’re on the payroll. The only reason I’m posting this video is because Keith Apicary. Are we really supposed to believe that Flo-Rida watches Keith Apicary videos all day? The calculated moves by Flo-Rida’s management in the attempt to go viral are painfully obvious.
House | Stereoshock – Feeling That Melody
Posted by W8 on June 19, 2012
NY’s very own Stereoshock amalgamates That Melody by Mark Simmons and Carita La Nina along with Make Me Feeling by Simone Farina, Alessandro Vinai and Andrea Vinai. The result is that track you’ve been yearning for, and eloquently depicts my lack of posts lately as an attempt to maintain this particular echelon of track. This entails that when I do post, you should expect nothing less than absurd. I figure, it’s better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt by posting anything less. Many of you can relate to the endless search for that diamond in the rough, and it’s tracks like this that restore faith and make it all the worthwhile.
