Albums | AlunaGeorge – Body Music
Posted by VMan on September 6, 2013
Last night I had the pleasure of catching AlunaGeorge’ sold-out NYC show at the Bowery, and after seeing them live, I think I like their new album “Body Music” even more. AlunaGeorge is made up of Aluna Francis and George Reid, whom are both from London, and I strongly suggest you listen to the album. George’s productions mesh perfectly with Aluna’s particular vocals, which at times reminds me of Janet Jackson’s voice from back in the days, or Inoj’s voice, for those who know her. There’s no doubt about it, “Body Music” is fresh and you’re bound to find a track you love. My favorites off the album so far are “Best Be Believing,” “Attracting Flies,” and “Lost & Found.” Stream the album on SoundCloud and get that on iTunes or find a way to get it, this is an excellent album!

After more than a year of writing, recording and perfecting, Radical Something’s sophomore album, ‘Ride It Out’, is finally available for the public. The Cali trio continue to push the boundaries of genre and versatility as they interweave hip hop, reggae, pop, and soul throughout the project, while maintaining their signature West Coast vibe. You can tell the guys really stepped up their production on this album and took it to the next level sonically and lyrically. They set out on tour this fall, so don’t miss that, and stay tuned for plenty more!

Featured | Ayah Marar talks working with Calvin Harris, The Real, & more! (FNT Exclusive)
Posted by VMan on August 29, 2013
Last week, I had the pleasure and honor to roll with UK artist Ayah Marar on her first US promo tour, promoting her chart topping single with Calvin Harris “Thinking About You,” off the double platinum selling album “18 Months,” and her debut album “The Real.” Ayah and I had a chance to sit and talk regarding her career, working with Calvin Harris, how “The Real” came about, and what we should expect from her in the future.
Personally, I’ve had “The Real” on repeat since I was introduced to it. The album is the fine line between underground music and mainstream music, and what’s great about it, is that it’s done organically, and not forced. My favorite tracks off the album would have to be “Beg Borrow Steal,” as it has big vocals, and an anthemic sound, and the titled track “The Real.” Her track with Calvin “Thinking About You” is also a banger! Click past the jump and read all about our discussion with Ayah Marar regarding her debut album, and how she ended up featuring on one of the biggest album of the past 2 years, along with Rihanna, Ellie Goulding, Florence, and more!
Chill, Electronic | Ta-Ku – We Were In Love
Posted by BP on August 29, 2013
“We Were In Love” is an edit put out to drum up some hype for Ta-Ku’s upcoming album release, “Songs To Break Up To” on HW&W and Sunday Records next month. The vocals are soothing, the beat is crisp and clean, and it’s packed with emotion. The piano is a nice touch as well. Ta-Ku always puts out such sophisticated tracks. I couldn’t be more excited for the album to drop! In the meantime, grab this one for free.
Electro | Krewella – We Go Down + Album Preorder
Posted by J_Salzer on August 27, 2013
Free Krewella is always a welcome sight in my mind. Although this isn’t necessarily free, I’ve told myself it is in order to justify my purchasing of their upcoming album. But fear not, for the preordering of their album needs NO justification, because there’s nothing better than Krewella. Seriously. I’ve had the joy of blogging the three knuckleheads since 2011 and they have been a joy to watch. So preorder their album, Get Wet, and you will get We Go Down for free. As for the track itself, it’s filled with classic beautiful Krewella vocals, a snarey build, and a huge drop. Exactly what you all need for your mid week raging festivities. Enjoy, and use it in good health, and thanks to our buddies at This Song is Sick for the sick premier.
