Alternative, Hip-Hop, Videos | Aer – Whatever We Want
Posted by Grubeats on July 9, 2014
Fitted in Celtics green track suits, the Boston duo hit us with visuals for what is now their 4th single off their recently released self-titled album. A carefree attitude clearly the motive behind this track, which is only appropriate seeing as though the FAM has pioneered a new lane in music. Light guitar riffs, a repetitive and free spirited hook, and the usual clever rhymes back this message as they continue to carve out their niche. Carter & David are currently on a nationwide tour Headlined by Dirty Heads, Pepper, & limited appearances by 311. For tour dates & tickets, check out Aer’s website.

Hip-Hop, Videos | OnCue – This View From Here
Posted by Grubeats on July 9, 2014
Think this kid has a chip on his shoulder? That’s an understatement. Cuey wants to drop this album even more than you and I want to hear it. No doubt has it been a long road, but I can finally taste it. As you’ll see in his newest video, Cue is rapping with an edge. He’s hungry. He’s boiling over. He’s ready to prove the naysayers wrong and elevate himself as one of the elite. “This View From Here” is exactly what I’ve been waiting for. You can see the anticipation for this album burning through his eyes and ringing through his voice. With Just Blaze signed on as the executive producer for the album, I can guarantee this will be one of the highlights of 2014.
Angry Young Man, September 3rd. Mark your calendars.
Freestyle, Pop, Videos | Timeflies Tuesday – Party In The U.S.A.
Posted by Grubeats on July 2, 2014
When it comes to being American, Cal and Rez are always proudly sporting the red, white, & blue. With their recent album After Hours marinating on the charts, Timeflies haven’t been releasing weekly TFT’s as I’m sure you have hoped. Remixing Miley is more or less a staple of their game at this point, so what would be more American than flipping “Party In The U.S.A.” for their first freestyle in the past few weeks? Well, I can think of a few others, but this one definitely hits the nail on the head as we head into Independence weekend. So with that, kick back or turn up, but whatever you do, toast to the greatest country in the world.

Hip-Hop, Pop, RnB, Videos | William Bolton – Let’s Stay Together (Official Music Video)
Posted by yabishcic on June 17, 2014
Today marks the release of William Bolton‘s official music video for his hit “Let’s Stay Together” that’s been blowing up over the internet recently. We’ve seen Bolton’s face on front page a couple times now with his single “Passion” and the drop of his EP, so it’s no surprise that he’s continuing to release quality projects for his fans. Though still on the come up, there’s no doubt in my mind that Bolton will reach far and wide with his music capabilities ~ not to mention his charismatic smile and killer pipes don’t already make him an easy target for any music lover. The song is upbeat, fun, and very universal with a music video to match it ~ now get ready to join the bandwagon.
If you love the song, you can buy it online through William Bolton’s new website at the bottom of the page under “Let’s Stay Together – Single”.
Progressive House, Videos | Axwell & Ingrosso Tease New Music At Governor’s Ball
Posted by Middy on June 9, 2014
A set for the ages, Axwell & Ingrosso closed out Governor’s Ball last night opposite a much more mellow Vampire Weekend on the main stage. The duo were fully invested in their debut performance as Axwell ? Ingrosso, putting just about every other act to shame with their production, launching streamers, confetti, intense pyro and a full on fireworks display that lasted for a few minutes. They also played 6, yes 6 new tracks and two videos have surfaced on the web for you to get a taste of what is to come. Spoiler alert, I took them. Get a good listen now because these will be big, very big.

Videos | Kinetics & One Love — Time Machine (Feat. Neon Hitch) [Music Video]
Posted by jeffwbaird on May 2, 2014
It’s been a year-and-a-half since we last heard from Kinetics & One Love, who have been steadily building a reputation as one of the most talented and promising duos in the genre on any scale. Always conceptual in their artistry, 2012’s terrific album You Are Not Alone solidified elements of their philosophical identity and developed an iconic sense of self, one that many artists are unable to conjure throughout the span of a career. Now, after a brief hiatus writing and producing for other artists (Neon Hitch, Melanie Martinez), they’ve returned with an even deeper and more fully-developed vision and aesthetic, continuing their streak of new music releases where a sense of progression is invoked. It’s expected at this point, and in a genre where progression isn’t commonplace and often first albums are a rapper’s most heralded, it bears a lot of weight that this group simply can’t make new music without “development” being a part of the dialogue.
“Time Machine” features the powerful vocals of Neon Hitch, and ups-the-ante for up-and-comers with its video by Hourglass Films, setting the bar for depth and quality at a level that may have never been surpassed before by independent artists. The track features Kinetics as innovative and visionary as he’s ever been on the mic, invoking the sentiments of Nikola Tesla, using the second verse to detail elements of his poignant death, from the hotel room to the “do not disturb” sign on the door that he left prior to his passing. One Love, too, shows his maturity as a producer here, not just inviting the listener to enter this world, but keeping them there. While his production here isn’t as much in the forefront as it has been on songs like “Vecina Del Mar” and “You Could Save Us All”, he’s become so adept at using the intricacies of his production to complement his vocalists, and its often the subtleties of his work that are the most resonant.
Hip-Hop, Videos | ShowYouSuck – All Wavy Everything
Posted by dshaq on April 15, 2014
Damn. This video is truly something different and is just as much fun to watch as it is to listen to. Chicago MC ShowYouSuck has been around the Chicago scene for a minute but I think with a video like this it, and he, can go viral. The beat was produced by Peter Cottontale and Mike Jaxx and the video was directed by Aaron Perkins Jr. With a fantastic flow from ShowYouSuck, this whole piece is way too on point. Definitely make sure to give this a watch, I’m sure it shouldn’t disappoint.
