Abstract Hip-Hop, Chill, Hip-Hop, Indie | BYP x Franky Murdock – About You (Remix)

Posted by on November 13, 2012

BYP is back on his musical grind with this remix of the young stunna XXYYXX’s piece. Beau Young Prince hops on this trippy beat with his Dope Collective partner, Franky Murdock, who makes his first appearance on Fresh New Tracks with this post. The SoundCloud genre label of this track is probably more perfect than anything I could attempt to describe it as: Slow Wind Trippy. Beau’s verse is the highlight and the beat reminds me of something from MellowHype, and something else I can’t place. Big things are on the horizon for Beau Young Prince, everyone be on the lookout.

Abstract Hip-Hop, Chill, Hip-Hop, Rap, Videos | Goone – Take for Granted (prod. by Aaron Zuckerman)

Posted by on November 12, 2012

Another awesome track from Goone. I’ve been watching his career for awhile now, and I truly believe he’s something special. We’ve gotten to be pretty close Twitter pals, and I’ll tell you right now, he’s hilarious. He’s got a different way of rapping, taking on taboo topics in a joking way, but also somehow staying serious. I know, I don’t really get it either. On a real note, there’s lots of people who think that they can rap, and are just doing it for the fame, money, and women, Marc Goone can rap. Although his ulterior motives could certainly be women, fame, or money, atleast he’s good at rapping.

Abstract Hip-Hop, Chill, Hip-Hop, Mixtapes, Rap | Jetpack Jones – Jetpack Odyssey (Mixtape)

Posted by on October 30, 2012

Fresh New Track favorite Jetpack Jones releases his Ph.D mixtape. I say Ph.D because this guy works harder than anyone, hence this is his 7th mixtape. Yeah, 7. And he still hasn’t blown up…weird right? With music like this, I really have no idea how this guy hasn’t been signed to a major label, or atleast a smaller indie label. I’m running out of adjectives to describe his music, and I have a fairly large vocabulary, so that, more than anything, speaks to this guys skill (and frequency on FNT). Grab the tape below, and as always, show the man some love below via facebook.

Abstract Hip-Hop, RnB, Videos | Andrea – Another

Posted by on September 26, 2012

NSFW

Andrea turned heads about 2 months ago with a remix of “Angels” by The xx. Today he serenades us with an Abstract Hip-Hop/R&B blend using vocal samples from Justin Timberlake. Forget Barry White, the video really puts this songs main purpose into light. Justin Timberlake’s voice actually sounds really good in the lower tones it is put into. This track is truly beautiful, it is literally sex.

Abstract Hip-Hop, Videos | Flying Lotus – Until The Quiet Comes (Short Film)

Posted by on September 9, 2012

Flying Lotus, like MF Doom, is one the worlds top Abstract Hip-Hop artists. On October 1st Flying Lotus’ next album, “Until The Quiet Comes” is releasing. Being familiar with his entire discovery, Flying Lotus is undoubtedly going to blow our minds. The short film above is NSFW, but not because of nudity but the violence depicted within. Filmed at Nickerson Gardens in Los Angeles, CA, director Kahil Joseph does not hold back in showing the life of those who live there. I understand what Kahil did with this video, death represents the quiet, and Flying Lotus’ music revitalizes the spirit within the man who was killed.
