Drum & Bass, Electro, Electronic, Hip-Hop, House | Far East Movement x the Soundbender – Murder Was the Bass EP
Posted by FilthyTaft on December 10, 2013

Here it is – the much awaited new EP from FEM and Soundbender. The bass heavy EP features some appearances from Kurupt and even Riff Raff. Far East Movement’s Kev Nish says, “We’ve always been huge Dogg Pound and Kurupt fans and had the chance to meet Kurupt when we worked with Snoop. We thought how sick it would be to do something crazy reppin’ the West with Kurupt and here it is.” Far East Movement are currently featured on the #1 US iTunes Dance Album Dance (RED) Save Lives, Vol. 2 on their Kill Paris collaboration “There Will Be No Rain.” EDMsauce.com called the track “incredible” and Earmilk.com said it is “absolutely stunning.” Murder Was The Bass continues Far East Movement dive into production following their Remix EP of the group’s current single “The Illest.” Early this year, they released GRZZLY, a free mixtape for fans that featured a collection of song remixes along with a few new tracks.
Progressive House, Trance | Artificial – Prototype
Posted by Middy on December 9, 2013
Andrew Bayer, the maker of my favorite album of the year, “If It Were You, We’d Never Leave” has teamed up with fellow Anjunabeats members, Norin & Rad to form the duo Artificial. The US branch of the Anjunabeats family, the three of these producers have always looked to push the traditional boundaries of genre, and they continue that trend here. The track combines the upbeat complexity we see in Andrew Bayer’s clubbier selections, with the melodic abilities seen in Norin & Rad’s tunes. It is the perfect storm of their talents.

Electro, Trap | Flight Facilities – Stand Still feat. Micky Green (Wave Racer remix)
Posted by dshaq on December 9, 2013
Wave Racer has been one of my favorite new artists with his bouncy take on so many different songs. The Future Classic label is stacked and Australia is budding with emerging new producers and Wave Racer is at the forefront. The whistles mixed with the bouncy bass and catchy synths are magical. This one is going to be on repeat forever, and I’ve already been stuck on his Always Remix, which I will post below. Get in tune with Wave Racer and his social media outlets below and show some love!
Drum & Bass, Dubstep, Glitch, House | Joe Ford – Culture EP
Posted by Mach on December 9, 2013
Joe Ford is one of the hottest names in bass music right now and the majority of the population doesn’t even know it yet. After his last successful release this year, “The Mission” EP, it comes to no surprise that he has yet again dominated with his “Culture” EP. Joe Ford kicks off this fresh EP with the title track “Culture”. This song is a behemoth, it is like Joe Ford thought to himself “Build up? Nah, I’m going to rape my fans in the face with my opening track on this release”. The waves of bass on this drop are ridiculous, I feel like my ears are being beaten to death by the lightsaber mach 1. “Distilled” tones the EP down a little… just a little. The track brings in the ever growing neuro-hop styling, bouncing you through some great kicks with the addition of that lovely flavor of reese-bass. As a gamer, this is the kind of track I’d want to be blasting my through hordes of noobs with.
I can see “Immobilise” being the theme of a fast traveling Spaceship being chased by another which is firing upon it, weaving in and out of asteroids with the occasional collision. If Michael Bay’s taste in music was worth anyone’s time, he would consider “Immobilise” for a space-flight scene in the next “Transformers” movie. Now, imagine a universe where Lex Luther kills Superman, Cell obliterates the Saiyans, and the Avengers perish at the hands of Ultron. Unopposed, “Villain” would be the track played as these cocky evil doers decimated our planet. If villains actually won, this song would be perfect, but considering they never do, we will just have to sit back and bump out to this badass tune with our imaginations.
Last, but not least we see the return of Asa on yet another EP ender with Inspected. “Real Talk” isn’t the kind of track we have been seeing throughout Joe Ford’s EP, it is the end of the story we have been listening to. “Culture” started us with the intense game changer that set the premise, “Distilled” the attempted fight through the initial bass threat, “Immobilise” the fight to the death, and “Villain” the defeat and utter destruction of what is left. Last, is the calm after the storm, with those left alive wondering what else is to come, the “Real Talk”. This is one of the best works I have heard all year, Joe Ford just set the bar.

Electro | DSK CHK Teases His Seductive Debut Single “WIL” (VIDEO)

DSK CHK just teased his latest original creation entitled “WIL (What Is Love)” and did it with a “50 Shades of Grey” style trailer! The visuals and sound marry perfectly in a sexually enticing vibe that certainly compliments both the direction and artistry of the track. When it drops… A sheer dance floor dominator, S&M style! Remnants of classic Swedish House Mafia piano riffs, haunting strings and the always noticeable female vocals of 90’s dance tune, “What Is Love” by Haddaway really build to a perfect climax both sexually and audibly. It’s refreshing to hear a proper house track that’s not in the direction of “hands up, jump up” and just stays balanced within a darker side of house, but still gives you that moment of, ahem, “explosion.” The track is scheduled to release in Jan 2014, with a follow up vocal version and music video treatment.
